When I picked up a flyer about this place at the Visitor's Center the Info Desk Guy said this place was nearby and would be interesting to visit. "They have over 40 items for sampling. They are nice people."

He was right--it was close, the people were friendly, and indeed they had lots of treats (all with some kind of nut) to try.

If you turn in the flyer at the register, the Good Earth Peanut Company will give you a peanut pin. Store looks like its been around since the Civil War--lots of character.

They are only 1 mile East off of Interstate 95, so easy to get there. They have lots of peanuts almost any way you could want them. But they have lots of other tasty nuts and snack items. Need a gift - stop and stock up. They let you look and taste too. It's a very casual place so don't expect elegant. However they are nice and have wonderful products.

Take it for what it's worth - but my husband and I absolutely loved this little out-of-the-way stop on our road trip from northern VA to South Carolina. I was hopeful that the signs inviting us to visit the Good Earth Peanut Co indicated an opportunity to tour their facility; see how peanuts are harvested, roasted, etc. No such luck. However, their little gift shop and the variety of nut items sold more than won us over. Every single item that they sell is available to sample first (and we were encouraged to do so during our visit) and is available to purchase in 3 sizes at reasonable prices. Our favorites (and those we appreciatively took home with us) were the (featured in Southern Living magazine) chocolate covered peanut brittle, the wasabi peanuts and the basic (but perfectly salted) roasted peanuts. We eagerly look forward to making the stop again on a future road trip and have bookmarked the website for placing orders in the meantime.
