My husband and I decided to plan a one night getaway to the Williamsburg, VA area for our 20th wedding anniversary. The B&B's directly in Williamsburg were quite pricey and required at least a 2 night stay. We looked at towns close by and found the Bay Tree Manor in Yorktown. Reviews were excellent so we decided to book the room and let me tell you we are so glad we did! The Bay Tree Manor is a lovely home that proprietor Mark Stephens rebuilt after it was badly damaged from a storm. It is beautiful and the views of the Chesapeake inlet are breathtaking (especially the brilliant colors of the sunrise in the morning). From the moment we arrived, we felt like family. Mark and his wife, Paige, made us feel so comfortable that we spent our whole weekend with them! We stayed in the Roosevelt Retreat Suite which featured a jacuzzi tub, a HUGE master shower and two bedrooms. It was decorated beautifully. Everything was so plush and relaxing. Breakfast was amazing (3 courses cooked by Mark). He could easily pass for a gourmet chef! Mark & Paige are wonderful folks who should be proud to show off their home. We are planning to go back again in April and hopefully again in the summer so we can use the gorgeous in-ground pool and kayaks. You deserve to treat yourself to a stay here!! Thank you Mark & Paige for a wonderful anniversary - we are so glad to have made two new friends!
