What can I say about this place other than Holiday Inn's effort to rebrand itself and make itself more playful, modern, and contemporary is paying off in a major way. Loved the exterior green lighting, just helped to set it off ever so slightly.

The hotel is tucked away with several others right off the interstate behind Wawa (perfect for late night hunger pangs.) There is ample free parking, a free airport shuttle, and free fast wifi throughout. There is also a nice indoor pool and basic gym.

Check in was swift and no drama. They inquired about floor/placement to elevator and accommodated our request for a double bedded room. They called within 10 minutes to make sure everything was satisfactory with the room which it was. Almost brand new, very comfortable, nice muted contemporary decor. Very homey. There was a fridge and microwave in the room. Decent toiletries, Bath and Body Works, and very high pressure shower. Flat-screen TV with multiple channels and ample room on the bathroom vanity. They nailed all the little touches such as GREAT A/C, comfy beds, and insulation from the airport noise/other guests. Loved that you could close the shades to keep it dark in the morning (don't know why some hotels are omitting that these days?)

Overall great stay if you're passing through Richmond and only a 15 minute drive to Downtown Richmond to check out the Canal area or nice meal or drink on the town.

Only con is no continental breakfast (Waffle House down the street :-) also the housekeeper knocked on the door pretty early twice before we checked out. To her defense we omitted the "do not disturb" hanger. Stay here! Got a great rate through Hotwire.

Your review was so eloquently thought out and written. We love that! We passed this review around to the staff as a reminder that their genuine care for each guest's experience really counts. Thank you for choosing us over the many other options here at the airport. Come back and see us again the next time you're in Richmond!

I haven't any complaints about this hotel at all! The rooms were quite comfortable, large, freshly appointed, and extremely clean, as were the public areas throughout! The staff at the front desk was extremely helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable about the area. Great value with regard to their competition as well--having stayed at other RIC airport hotels, I can attest that this really is the best option, where you will get the most for your money!

Room Tip: My top floor corner King room had a great view, was quiet, and well appointed!

Stayed here on an overnight while traveling to OBX. It's the third time we have used this hotel as a stopping point, and it's always been very good. We had several rooms reserved on points, so the hotel was not making anything off of our party. We had four families with kids, so we also weren't an easy group. I wish I could remember the name of the gentleman who checked us in the afternoon of July 6 (4pm), but he was fantastic. As a platinum PC member, I qualified for a free breakfast, but he gave a coupon to EVERYONE in our party, including the kids. He also swapped a king room for one w/ two queens after I realized I had made a mistake when I booked the trip. I hope HI checks the records of who was on duty at that time, because his level of customer service was exemplary and he should be recognized.

The servers during breakfast on July 7 were also great. They were patient and efficient, again knowing all of our food was free. Obviously, we tipped them well, but again their attitude was outstanding.

Overall, the property is clean, easy to find, and very convenient to the airport. Rooms are very nice with solid ammenities, but it's the staff that makes this place so good. I travel a lot for business, and wish all hotels were this customer-focused. This experience will probably cause me to consider Holiday Inn more often than I previously. Thanks again to everyone at this hotel for a far-above-expectations experience.

Such a kind review! Our staff really has their spirits lifted when they get a review that points out the things they did well. Thank you for your loyalty to our hotel as your stopping point during your travels. Marcel does a fantastic job of understanding what good customer service means and executes it very well. Having been warned that certain areas of Richmond were better than others, we were pleased to find the area around this hotel to be safe and easy to get to. There is certainly nothing special about this hotel, but it certainly met our needs for a one night stay on our way to the Outer Banks with our two kids. The hotel could use new carpets as they seemed dingy, but the rooms seemed clean and fresh. The hotel pool water was a little cloudy and seemed to burn the eyes, but otherwise ok. We were not bothered by the sound of the airport and my kids found the planes entertaining!

Stay at the Holiday Inn over the weekend and had a good stay. Hotel was nice. Man at front desk also was very helpful. Only down fall is it seemed they never ran the vac cleaner in our room and also one night we called down to get towels and never got them.

Thank you for taking the time to review us from your recent stay at the Holiday Inn Richmond Airport. While it seems we missed the ball on your towel request, your comment has been noted and new training and procedures have been issued to ensure these kind of issues do not happen again. We hope to see you the next time you are travelling to Richmond.
