“Good value restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2010

Salem is a small town on the outskirts of Roanoke, but it has lots of places to eat due in part ot being a college town. Mac and Bob were two students at Roanoke College who stayed after graduation and started a restaurant that caters to students, families and locals. The menu is diverse and everything is very reasonably priced. It's not a fancy restaurant, but the food is fresh and delicious.

“Great”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2010

The food was a welcome treat after all the road food we had been eating from Texas to Massachusetts. Great, creative menu items: crab cake sandwich, chicken chili, philly cheesesteak, and great appetizers. Huge portions for the price. The fried mushrooms were enough for four people and the horseradish dipping sauce was great. Good beer selection also. Fast service for how busy the place was. Parking can be difficult.

“Great Buffalo Wings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2008

The wings are legendary, even if the celery is suspect. Stick with the sandwiches, burgers and calzones. Dinner entrees are not up to par. Great patio area in the back. Get your parking validated at lunch.

“Trust but verify”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2008

The food was ok but the servers and/or cooks seem to have a problem meeting my special request. I hate canned mushrooms so I always order my hamburger with "fresh mushrooms" - and I always get canned. When I send it back they do it right, but I almost always have to send it back.
