“Fun Place”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Was in the area as we are building a house. Wife and I had dinner there. Sat outside on the patio, and views were beautiful. Inside decor is a mixture of old school lodge meets sports bar. Servers take the time to ask what your daily beer was, then suggested their beers to try. Had the Vienna Lager and Maibec, both were 1st class beers. The wife had the garlic-herbed chicken with garlic-chedder empanadas stuffed with braised kale, and a bean succotash. Sounds weird but they were excellent. I had the spring gnocchi with asparagus, carrots and artichoke hearts in a cream sauce. Also outstanding. We also had the small side salads, with fresh spinach, roasted tomatoes, and boursin cheese. Both the meals and salads had very generous portions. The meals were large enough that with the salads, we could had split one and have more than enough. we have heard that weekend nights can be crowded, but a Thursday evening was busy but not crowded.

“Great place to eat, drink, and sit for views”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

Wonderful food and on site brewed beer. Fantastic to sit outside and look at the sourrounding moutains in the Nelson Valley. Very rustic building and excellent wait stall. Have heard that they will host weddings etc. Just go! It's hard to best describe!!

“Everything was awesome”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

We stopped by with a MINI Cooper owners group for a bite to eat and sample their brews. First off, this place is gorgeous! The waitstaff is sharp and knowledgeable about their food and beer. Everyone was pleased with their food and the beer range from mild and simple to very hoppy. I'd suggest stopping by for food, but if you just stop by for some brew you won't be disappointed either.

“Wonderful Dining Experence”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Ample parking, seating can be outside, live music, fantastic menu and selections. being a brewery as well they offer great selections of beer. The inside is amazing with wildlife that has been taken by hunters and mounted in a very tasteful manner. as the evening sets in the clouds roll in with a mist that lays low in the valley. A short drive down from the Wintergreen Resort mountain is well worth the ride. Not a bad drive if you are coming in from Charlottesville either, just sit back and enjoy the ride.

“A Rocky Mtn Lodge in the Blue Ridge Mtns”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

An interesting craft beer brew pub and resturant. The architecture resembles that of a western lodge likely found in the Rocky Mountains. However, the location is in the Blue Ridge mountains of central Virginia.
The home made craft beer is great...would recommend the award winning Vienna Lager. Food is also good and a large quanity is served. Try the Fish & Chips or Pulled Pork. Plenty of selections and Reuben as well as burgers looked tempting.
The inside of the resturant walls are decorated with stuffed animals making it feel like a real lodge. Outdoor seating is avaiable and covered porch has winter fireplace for after sking rest.
Views from base of moutains are really beautiful with wrap around mountians.
