Just Kay's Cafe
Cuisines: American
Description: Just Kay's is about 10 miles from Lexington, Virginia in Rockbridge Baths - the only restaurant in this part of town. They have good, basic breakfast and lunch fare, and are also open one evening - Fridays. If you enjoy eggs, bacon, chicken sandwiches, salads, and homemade pies and cobblers, this is the place for you. Service is always laid back and friendly. The food is good overall rather than excellent (though the desserts are excellent), but well worth the stop for a decent meal and good country hospitality.

“Lovely lodge building, great food.”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

And super - friendly service. Cute little gift shop too, and paintings by local artists on wall. Excellent pies and cobblers. The soup tasted homemade. We go every time we drive to Goshen.

“Amazing Dessert”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

The restaurant is a cute but large log cabin. You can sit outside on a deck or inside and browse around their little gift shop. Breakfast is served all day much to the delight of my boyfriend. Our waitress was very attentive and nice! I ordered the roast beef sandwich and it was wonderful. But by far the best was DESSERT!!! And our wonderful waitress brought out each of the desserts for us to peruse. We chose the blackberry cobbler and the Blueberry bread pudding. Holy Moly!!!! so good and wonderful! We will be back!

“It could be wonderful, but...”
Reviewed June 17, 2012

The facility is lovely; the porch and rocking chairs are inviting; the extra gift shopping is delightful. The food, however, is common. You get a sandwich and bread is like "Wonder Bread". For 10 cents more they could use a better bread. You order a tuna salad, and it is not served with lettuce and the tuna salad is thinly spread. You order a Coke and it comes in a can, with no refills. The soups are good, but don't order late in the day because they really get thick from sitting on the stove. It has location, it has sincere owners, it has good intentions. If it would just go up a little bit in quality, it could be outstanding. And, also work with the serving staff. Sometimes when the staff is on the cell phone talking with friends it can take a while to get their attention.
