DH and I came here on a Saturday night, arriving just before the crowds packed the place. Don't let its location in a strip mall fool you...this is some damned fine sushi at reasonable prices.
We started out with hot tea, and our starters were the house salad with ginger dressing ($1.50) and DH got the pork dumpling soup ($6.50). The salad was good, but the pork dumpling soup was really something special--very flavorful and rich.
We got some California rolls ($5.50 for 8) and iCrunchy rolls ($10 for 5). This isn't a typo, by the way--many of the rolls have whimsical names. Again, the California rolls were good, but the iCrunchies were outstanding--spicy tuna, cucumber, scallion, and cream cheese, which is deep-fried and topped with shrimp tempura. YUM. Wish we had gotten 2 orders of them.
The service is friendly and quick, and the ambience is low-key and casual. It was quiet enough to have a conversation, which doesn't always happen anymore.
