Love the local flair of this wonderful restaurant and bakery. The staff is friendly, food great, desserts even better, and price it right.

“Not bad, but not great.”
Reviewed August 15, 2014

Drive past it all the time going to and from work and always wondered about it. Then someone at work recently said it was very good; and when I looked it up on trip advisor I was surprised to see that it was in the top five. Anyway I had lunch there today with my mother and my daughter. First, it is nicely decorated, but it was packed and very loud; we had a hard time hearing ourselves talk. Second, the service was excellent--staff were all friendly and we did not wait long for our food. And as far as the food goes: my mother had TInker Mountain Quesadilla (black beans with melted cheddar jack cheese, guacamole, Hollywood's salsa, sour cream, and tortilla chips). She said it was an "excellent blend of wonderful flavors." I had ghost pepper chicken sandwich, which was good, but not good enough to warrant a top five rating (ghost pepper is the hottest pepper around, and this sandwich was barely hot at all). And my daughter had fried oysters. She is used to Charleston SC oysters and said these "tasted like water." She did not finish them.

“Great desserts average food”
Reviewed August 12, 2014

The desserts here are incredible but the food itself is just average. This is a great place to go pick up brownies and other such bar desserts to take home but the food itself is just average and nothing worth staying for a meal.

“Pretty good”
Reviewed August 8, 2014 via mobile

We had a good time. It was a very friendly atmosphere.

One child had coconut battered chicken. She wasn't thrilled with the coconut flavor, but we loved it and took off the breading for her.

The adults shared a slab of N.C. ribs, finger licking good. The slaw was crunchy and fresh. We didn't like the green beans and had an interesting discussion with the server about Southern style green beans versus garden fresh style beans. He took the cost off of the bill without our even asking.

We were too full to have dessert, but it looked great.

The prices were reasonable.

We would definitely go back.
