We had the pleasure of staying one night at Rose Hill on a trip to Roanoke. This was our first time in a bed and breakfast, and it was a nice change of pace from a hotel.
Wendy was delightful, and we truly enjoyed talking with her. She is an exquisite cook--the breakfast was huge and melted in your mouth. You would probably pay at least $35 per person for such a lavish breakfast if you were at a restaurant. Wendy is very accommodating to dietary restrictions, including gluten-free and vegan options. We also enjoyed talking with the other guests at breakfast.
The house is in an historic neighborhood with a park across the street. We did not have time to enjoy the park, but we did see others taking advantage of it. There was free street parking directly in front of the house.
Our bed was very comfortable with luxurious sheets--what a treat! We reserved the room with a private bath, which included clawfoot tub and shower. Everything was prepared to perfection and looked so nice that we were almost afraid to touch!
Wendy knows a lot about the area, so don't hesitate to ask her for recommendations on restaurants and activities.
