If you're going to Roanoke by train via Lynchburg or coming in by plane this is a handy place to stay. Cross the tracks bŷ a covered walkway and you're in downtown while the fabulous O Winston Link museum is on your left and the transport museum on your right. And you're not much further away from the modern art gallery.
The hotel itself is fine, clean rooms, quick and helpful housekeeping and service and a comfy bar - hotel prices of course but charming service.
Tie all that in with the oddball architecture so it doesn't look like a Hilton and you have a great place to stay.
