My husband and I were in Roanoke celebrating his birthday and chose Cedars Lebanese based on Trip Advisor reviews. Our window table gave us a good view of the attractive decor inside & people passing by outside. We learned that they had just received their ABC license that day so our timing was perfect. One of the owners came to the table and described a white blend Lebanese wine they had available--it was perfect with our meal. We started by sharing an order of Fatayer (spinach pies). You receive a generous 6 pieces which would almost be enough for a meal so we made sure to save room for that night's special--grilled cornish hen. Half of a bird was beautifully presented on a bed of rice with an attractive ring of tomato/lettuce perfectly circling the plate. Pretty to look at but even better to eat! This was one of those meals that I was sorry to have come to an end. We passed on dessert (this time), wanting to savor all the delicious food we had just eaten. We live 3 hours from Roanoke but there will definitely be some return visits!

We had the pleasure of eating at Cedars in dowtown Roanoke, VA last night and loved it. We shared 5 small plates and drank 2 beers and the tab was only $40. The babaganoush is excellent as were the tabouleh, fresh falafel, spinach fatayer and meat sambousek. The delightful waitress is a member of the family who own this spot, and was very helpful in describing how to prepare each dish so we can duplicate them at home. Worth a stop on a long north to south route.

Passing through Roanoke, VA. and (mistakenly) not expecting a great variety of dinner options my wife and I checked Trip Advisor for restaurant reviews. Lebanese? Been awhile. A brief walk from the Tudorbethan palace that is the Hotel Roanoke, the Cedars is a recently opened restaurant with an entrepreneurial son out front and a talented mother cooking in the back. This is the real deal- generous with the lemon and parsley in several dishes, terrific falafel, wonderfully textured baba ghanouj...in the end we tried nine different vegetarian treats and that didn't even get us to the beef, chicken or lamb on the menu. Entirely satisfied with the decor and the price and delighted by the meal, we left with one of each of the five desserts which were supposed to last until morning. We didn't wait. They didn't last. 100% worth it. We'll skip a meal or two to feel better about the gluttony. The only regret is that we were just passing through.

What a tasty experience. Everything is fresh and the flavors are so interesting. If you like lemon and parsley this is the place for you. These seem to be used a lot in the food preparation. The humus is outstanding and everything was so good. I will go again soon.

This was our first time dining here. The food was fresh and everything was delicious! Try the honey cake for dessert!
