Views from atop of mill mountain is hard to beat. I could stay all day. You see all of the Roanoke valley. Roanoke va is a city that I think is overlooked.

“Awesome view of the Roanoke Valley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

The star is worth the trip up the mountain any time, day or night and is one of the most beautiful views from the Blue Ridge Parkway. However, the best time to see it is at night during the Christmas holidays. The star changes color for special holidays, and the City of Roanoke is also decked out for the season. Be sure to stop by this amazing landmark any time you're in the Roanoke Valley, you won't be sorry. There's a reason Roanoke is known as "The Star City", so go check it out!

“Relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

If you are ever of need of short little trip and a nice walk, well here is the place for you. We live about half an hour from here, but the kids love coming up, especially just before sunset-watch the sun set in the mountains, the star lights up and the little playground is fun, although looks a bit dangerous . I am yet do it myself, but the trails would be amazing for riding your bike.

“Stunning View of Roanoke and North”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

Stunning view of Roanoke and to the north. See pic.

Easy to locate and drive up the mountain.

I was in awe of joggers and bikers making their way up the mountain. Kudos!

Next time think I may hike up rather than drive.

Free

Tip: watch speed limit en route to mountain through the residential neighborhood. Don't become a victim and donor to city revenue generation.

“Fun break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

Always a spot to view the Valley. Clean. Fun to watch various fireworks from. Nice little circle trail to let young children feel free to roam and climb on rocks and feel adventurous. And there are no fees.
