Two of us stayed 2 nights; the accommodations were beautiful & charming. Lynn & Jim Hunt, the proprietors, couldn't have been nicer, friendlier, or more thoughtful. The room we had was spacious & lovely. We peeked into the other 3 rooms that are on offer & found them to be equally wonderful; each has a private bath. The inn has only been open for 8 months & the house, circa 1900, was renovated within the last 2 years. Everything is clean; the bathrooms are new and the furnishings in the house compliment the era in which it was built. There is a sitting room on the 2nd floor that is comfortable & sunny -- a perfect spot for reading, talking, or contemplation. The separate dining room has a big enough table for 6. The breakfasts each day were delicious: Eggs Benedict one morning & waffles the next. We were absolutely pleased with the entire experience & hope to stay there again when we visit Roanoke in the future.

We stayed for only one night at the King George but were greeted like royalty upon our arrival. Jim and Lynn welcome us with open arms (there were four of us - two couples), telling us the history of the Inn and enjoying a glass of wine (or two) and a cheese tray. They helped us decide where to dine - and pointed us to a wonderful local restaurant in walking distance - even providing flashlights.

The rooms were beautiful, well appointed, high ceilings, and appropriate decor - not too much, not too frilly, and very comfortable. The bathrooms had lovely tilework throughout and the hard wood floors were polished to a high shine.

The next morning we scheduled breakfast and had a terrific meal with homemade pastry, pancakes, thick bacon, hot coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice.

This is a great place for a girls getaway or a romantic night. We'll definitely be back!

Lynn and Jim were wonderful hosts and their inn was the perfect setting for our group. We were in town for downtown events related to our Virginia Tech conference; the Inn is walking distance to downtown, and it even has a lovely upper level living room type space for guests to gather. Lynn and Jim prepared great breakfasts, there is free wi-fi - all in a beautiful, spacious setting.

We were dazzled by the beauty of this lovely inn. Everything was just about perfect. It couldn't have been cleaner or more comfortable. The bed was like a cloud. The breakfast was more than delicious. Jim and Lynn made us feel very much at home. We will return if we are ever in Roanoke again.

My husbnd and I spent 6 weeks redoing and staging our PA home for sale and were spent - physically and emotionally.. We decided to route our trip to Fl through Roanoke, where we are seriously considering relocating. Online, we found the King George Bed and Breakfast. and made reservations for the next couple of days..

We arrived in the middle of the historical society's Christmas home tour, of which their ihome was a star, and Jim and Lynn were hosting a ton of people. Yet, they made time for 2 weary guests who hadn't had a chance to eat dinner - showing us around, plying us with some delicious brie, sliced pears, crackers, homemade bread and wine - heaven!l And, the accomodations were perfect.

The following morning, after a fabulous breakfast,, they armed us with maps, info and advice for our search - all the tools we needed to explore this lovely area. When we returned, we were greeted with bonhomie, wine and wonderful conversation. We left for Fl the following a.m., after another scrumptious breakfast ,and were 2 hours into the trip, when Jim called to let us know we had left an important piece of luggage behind. We had to return, but Lynn offered to meet us halfway, saving us hours of increased travel - What a doll! And, what a great way to show the extra care and attention these innkeepers extend to their guests - kudos all the way around!!!

This is a wonderful place to visit. Owned and operated by Jim and Lynn Hunt, this bed and breakfast is a restored 1900's colonial mansion, that has been restored and beautifully furnished. It is warm and inviting, and Lynn prepares a breakfast fit for King George himself. Truly five star. Whenever we are in the Roanoke area, this will be our first choice.

We had a tremendous time staying at the King George Inn for our anniversary. Jim and Lynn know how to provide the ultimate B&B experience. The Inn is fabulous ! The food was very good, and included wine and appetizers in the afternoon.
