okay so we stopped to roanoke on our way to tn. didnt like the hotels right in roanoke so we decided to try the interstate. We found the hj inn and it looked okay from the outside. We got inside and it smelled really musty there was profanity on a couple of the doors, the toilet shaked, also half the recepticles in the room didnt work. But not bad for one night, however i must give the staff credit they were very friendly and willing to help.

Run down, two double beds non-smoking, bad beds. Big dip in the center. My 19 year old daughter moved to the floor halfway thru the night because she couldn't sleep because the bed was too soft as well as the dip. Bathroom toilet continued to run half the night. Also bad smell, downstairs like someone had sprayed for bugs. Everything worked in the room, to include tv, frig and microwave. Nice sized room.

Supposed to be high-speed wireless internet, but not in my room. Not able to connect as the speed was too slow. Breakfast was the usual bagels and donuts.

"Wouldn't stay again for sure. To many other options down here. However, I will admit $55 for one night which included tax wasn't bad for Saturday night. Its 5 minutes from the airport terminal at most, but still kind of hidden. I can see the Best Western from her and it appears (on the outside) to be a much nicer hotel.

We stayed here Saturday and Sunday night at the end of March and April 1st as we were in town for the NASCAR race in Martinsville. We are Triprewards members and booked the hotel well in advance of race weekend. We paid $69 and $64 for the 2 nights and noticed that others checking in paid over $150. It appears that the hotel didn't realize that it was NASCAR weekend until it started to fill up and then upped the rates.

The hotel is easy to reach off of I-81 and then 581 by the airport. Having stayed in many similar type hotels like HJ, Super 8, Days Inn, etc this one is average and we had no complaints. The room was clean and the shower was newer with no mold around it, which is something we always look for. The wallpaper in the corner of the bathroom was loose and it looked like there was a leak from the room above at one time.

The bed was fine and the TV worked with about 60 channels, but no HBO as advertised. Check-in and Out was easy even though the front desk clerk stated they were overbooked for the night.

Overall I would recommend this hotel for someone traveling through this area or going to the airport as a basic clean place to sleep.

This newly remodeled facility was a real pleasure in its price range. Clean, friendly service at the front desk, and the area felt safe.

Room 517 Upon arriving in our room the toilet paper was left streaming down to the floor from the roll, the sink and vanity were dirty and where a cup had one time sat there was still the imprint in the scum.

There was urine all over the underside of the toilet seat and around the hinges, urine stains on the vinyl wall behing toilet. Hair and dirt on tile floor and actual pieces of dirt in our tub when I ran the water they floated in it. Months of soap scum build up on shower walls. There were two cobwebs one on each side of the bathroom door and each contained a live spider.

The carpet was not vacuumed, our sheets were not covering the mattress and were soiled, the mattress pad had a stain that looked like bodily fluids about a foot long across the pad that ran down the mattress to the box springs. Obviously the pad was never changed or it would not have matched up to the stain.

Manager did not come to our room to view our problems he was too busy at 11p.m. at night. I had to go get fresh sheets, pillow cases and a bed pad from the front desk. Manager said to flip mattress. We started to but it was stained even worse on other side, covered in stains actually.

Our room was dusty, the comment card was stained but I filled it out anyway, no remote, no clock. The mattress should be destroyed it is a major safety and health risk. Managers excuse was we do not usually rent the 4th and 5th floors!!! They were sold out as well as everyone else for the race in Martinsville the next day. We never took off our socks for fear of diseases and kept our one travel bag off the floor for fear of bugs it just looked like the typical dateline special roach infested, bed bug kinda place!
