The wife and I ate here Saturday evening. We ordered an appetizer (some sort of Taco with meat but can't recall-was pretty good) before ordering meals. I ordered a 5 Peppercorn Strip Steak cooked medium and it came out perfect. Wife ordered a combination with a Filet Mignon, Shrimp and Bacon covered Scallops. She was very happy with all of them. We shared a Sweet Potato Casserole which was good but we make it better at Thanksgiving. The service was very good. I had trouble hearing our server due to the background music and he had it turned down which is rare in this business. We were the first customers of the night and they may have been enjoying the music a little loud before customers arrived and forgot to turn it down. The so-so appetizer and shared side dish is the only thing keeping this from being a 5. The dinners are not cheap here so don't come in and complain about how expensive everything was.

We went to Morton's for our New Year's dinner celebration and had an excellent dinner. The meal was excellent; the steaks were extremely tasty and well done; the wine list was very thorough; service was commendable. The only aspect of the dinner that we did not enjoy too much was the location of our table--too close to the bar so the noise level was too loud. Understanding that this was a New Year's celebration, it could have been a little more enjoyable if we could have had some more of a relaxing time. Our party was a party of 6, including two older teenagers.

Overall, we had a great dinner but I cannot give more than 3* to a high-end steak house that offers a steak that is truly average. Our filet was cooked correctly but lacking flavors. At that price, you expect a near perfect steak. The food was otherwise quite good and the appetizers delicious. The service was good but at times was a bit off in terms of timing.

I loved the Spinach Salad! It was a generous portion. My main course was beef ribs and noodles. The beef was tender.

We went to Morton's last Saturday, a member of our family is hospitalized and we needed a break and a good steak- having been to Morton's Reston before we knew we could count on an old standard. We screwed up our reservation on Open Table but the staff was polite and accommodating. Still, I couldn't help but to think the less than great table we were given was the result of the staff seeing and misinterpreting my two well dressed but young teens- both of whom are budding foodies and have 3 Michelin Star experiences under their belts. The waiter was entertaining but we felt rushed- implying that we had to order our desserts before we had even ordered drinks less the kitchen not be able to accommodate. Steaks did not disappoint, we got what we came for- sides and apps were average with usually solid asparagus ruined by being drowned in balsamic. Nevertheless you go for the steak and we will be back, that is worth the price of admission.
