We LOVED Ma Margaret's! Spent 2 nights there following 2 nights touring Annapolis so the country quiet and relaxation was a welcome contrast. This gorgeous home sits by itself in the middle of a field, beautifully renovated and landscaped. It was love at first sight! We were warmly welcomed by Pam who works the weekdays. she graciously answered all our questions as she gave us a tour of the home. Alva, the owner, was a gracious as can be. We were so impressed by her talent for decorating, landscaping, cooking and atttention to details! The breakfasts were fabulous and she always had a little treat at the side entrance that we could help ourselves to. We really cannot convey in words what a relaxing and uplifting experience this was! From happy hour outside on our private second floor balcony porch to the beauty and cleanliness of this home, it's the whole package if you really need to get away and relax. Either Alva or Pam were there if we needed something, but never hovered over us!
Lots of antique shops, wineries and great food in the area as well.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the two rooms with their own private balcony.

Good romantic getaway and ideal staging location for Reedville ferry to Tangier Island, MA MARGARET'S has the sort of loving attention to detail that the distiguishes the best B&B's. Owner Alva understands the important difference between hospitality and intrusiveness so that our stay was both private and informative. Delicious and bountiful breakfast.

The historic, family home is lovely, and it's a perfect place to relax and get away from city life. Alva, one of the owners, and her staff made us feel welcome. Each morning we had a delicious, home-cooked country breakfast which kept us full for most of the day. The rooms were comfortable and the private balcony was an added bonus.

We would have given it 5 stars except for a few things: our bed wasn't made and our towels weren't changed, we didn't have enough extra toilet paper, the soap by our sink was down to the very last pump (almost empty) and we didn't have any tissues. We didn't mention the towels or bed to anyone, but the rest of our concerns were addressed in a timely manner.

We did the Living Social deal but opted out of the couples massage.

It's located a short drive to a few, good seafood restaurants. We also took the boat tour to Tangier Island, which is an experience unto itself. I was there about 25 years ago and it hasn't changed much.

The B&B was lovely and the room looked just like the pictures. The breakfasts were good and the company engaging. However, at least twice I could never find someone to address issues that arose even when I knocked on the doors marked Private. If there were specific hours during which a manager would be there, it should have been communicated. Also, the bed was not made after the first night, nor were the towels changed - again, if this is customary, it should have been communicated. It was not our first time at a B&B and we have never had that experience.
The Living Social deal specified an in-room couples massage, but what was offered were two massages at back-to-back times in a separate room. I explained that couples massage is not the same as a couple of massages.
The deal said we would receive "gourment chocolates." What we received were FOUR Hershey's kisses in a brown paper shopping bag with two wine glasses and some brochures.
Although I thought it was a lovely place, I was very disappointed that we received was not what was advertised.

Room Tip: THe Ma Margaret jr suite is small and is adjacent to the porch to which everyone has access.

My wife and I took a motorcycle getaway to Ma Margaret's House. What a great B & B. The house itself is beautiful inside and out. Our hostess couldn't have been nicer or more accomadating. Breakfast both days was excellent. Great motorcycle roads in the area to boot. The history of the area was very interesting. We learned a lot about an area that we were unfamiliar with.

What a wonderful place to stay for a first anniversary! My husband surprised me with this weekend getaway and Ma Margaret's sisters made it extra special. The Jackson Room proved to be a relaxing retreat with comfy bedding and seating. They even filled an ice bucket for us so we had cold wine waiting upon our return.

My wife and I stayed at Ma Margaret's while celebrating our 35th anniversary in June of 2012. The staff was wonderful and all the accomadations were excellent. There are many sites to see within a short driving distance, and the time spent in Ma Margaret's was very relaxing. Breakfasts were super , some of the best bacon and eggs we had ever tasted. We highly reccomend your stay at Ma Margaret's. While there, be sure and take the cruise over to Tangier Island. It's a great little visit for a day. Enjoy the Cheseapeake Bay!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Master Suite. I highly reccomend it.
