Conveniently off I-64 between Williamsburg and Richmond, Virginia, you'll find Julio's Mexican Restaurant. Having just moved to the area, my family and I decided to try all the local restaurants and found Julio's to offer a friendly and helpful staff as well as delicous Mexican cuisine. As we entered, a member of the staff welcomed us and made us feel right at home. The atmosphere is colorful and casual. We were seated and quickly served the house chips and dips (a traditional salsa and a delicious white dipping sauce as well). Our waiter had our drinks on the table in a matter of minutes. Each member had a different delectable dish (of which I tried them all) Fish Tacos( grilled tilapia, onions and tomatos on flour tortillas with coleslaw and special sauce), Enchiladas Poblanos (chicken enchiladas topped with poblano sauce, cheese and onions), Fajitas Tropical(chicken scallops and shrimp with pinapple, onions, tomatos and peppers) and La Rancherita(beef tips, mushrooms, tomatos and onions in ranchero sauce). Each was wonderful and the portions are large enough to share. We have since been to Julio's to dine in and take out multiple times trying something different each time and everytime we are greated warmly as amigos and the food is always delicioso.
