I sated one night fr business. I would have take longer, but duty called. The room was great, comfortable, fresh. The ship over in me found the view delightful. Outside, the sidewalk was wonderful to stroll for a little while. It was very relaxing. The view of Nrfolk downtown from across the river was romantic. If you have the timean interest, you can pick up a water taxi right in front other hotel. Is probably faster than driving to downton Nrfolk if you are going with traffic. And that's e only drawback fr me. I had to go downtown for business. The tunnel is SLOW. I with id known about th water taxi before hand. Overall the would be a relaxing and swank home base from which to tour the area.

I stayed on business one night at this hotel. The Front Desk staff were outstanding and cheerful. we had waterfront view rooms which were 2 doubles and had alot of room. There were minor things in the room that were not completely up to spec, the door handle was slightly loose to the touch, the flush handle on the toilet was loose as well, but everything worked well. The room was very clean, the beds and pillows excellent. Room service continental breakfast on monday morning was 3 pastries under plastic wrap which tasted like they had been there since sunday morning. But the coffee was plentiful and fine, the fresh fruit good, and the fresh squeezed orange juice also plentiful and good. Wifi was 12.95 per day which is an abomination, and parking was $10 , which given the fact the place was not full was also a disappointment but I understand it is a city. I probably will stay in downtown Norfolk next time, but this is a good choice if you want a quieter side of the area and I would try to negotiate free wifi.(they had several terminals to use free in the lobby , and maybe the wifi was free there, I am not sure I never used the lobby service)

Room Tip: Ask for a waterfront view room. And try to get free wifi in yr rate.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The lobby is BEAUTIFUL! The rooms were immaculate and roomy, and the setting couldn't have been nicer with a gorgeous view of the harbor and marina. The lounge staff was also great to talk to, and provided us with ideas for things to do and see. Still think internet access should be free - especially in a conference center (McDonalds has free Wi-Fi for crying out loud), but really nice stay.

We visited last year for the 4th of July. We traveled in from Ohio and had a/c issues and were given wrong room on first visit. The hotel made up for it and we wanted to visit again because it's a beautiful place.

Well....We stayed from 7/2 through 7/5/2012. Our room was promptly ready, can't beat the view from the top floor!! This hotel has it all!! Service, quality and bang for the buck! Front desk staff is courteous and will go out of the way for you to help you with anything you need. Concierge service (16th floor) is very nice. They have a restaurant there, good quality food and they have a bar too. This year they offered wireless in the rooms. I didn't use it as I have wireless tether from my phone.

The view from here is simply great, the family loves seeing the huge battle ships and you are just across the river from the USS Wisconsin battleship that you can tour. (Highly recommend) The ferry boats that take you across the river are right in front of the hotel and is only $3.00 round trip. (These are not owned by the hotel)

My second visit will NOT be my last, the family absolutely love this place.

Tip::: if you pay with bank debit card there IS a $50 a night hold for "incidentals" I am not a fan of this at all, but it's policy, also $10.00 a day for parking in the parking garage. You have to do it though, nowhere else to park.

Room Tip: Request River view, THE BEST 16 + 17 floor are concierge

This hotel is beautiful! It's in a great location with spectacular views of Norfolk, VA. The staff was very helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. We did have to pay to park but that seems to be how it is these days. The decor was so pretty and although breakfast was not included in our stay, we did eat at the dining room one morning and the food was very good! The hotel was not busy while we were there (no conferences) so we got lots of attention! I would love to go again!!

Room Tip: Stay on the upper floors for the best view of the river.
