Stayed for two nights for our 20th anniversary. Beautiful property on Tabbs Creek. Did a kayak trip and relaxed by the pool. Fire pit with smores. Chesapeake suite was very nice - huge comfortable bed with the softest linens. Breakfast was amazing. Greg and Lori put out a great spread of eggs, pancakes, french toast, berries, fruit, potatoes, sausage - much of the fruit and vegetables grown on the property. Very impressed with the chlorine free pool and that the inn is "green". Beautiful place!!

We just completed a four day stay at the Inn at Tabbs Creek and we couldn't have been more pleased. It is a picturesque property right on the water with sunsets that you only see in travel magazines. Lori and Greg are exceptional hosts who can't seem to do enough for you. If you are looking for a place to turn your motor off and just listen to the birds, this is the place for you. The small town of Mathews is only 3 miles up the road and it has an interesting collection of shops and restaurants. The screened in porch off the main house allows you to enjoy the evenings and escape the mosquitos.

Room Tip: Ask for the Captain's Room in the main house.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Inn at Tabbs Creek, and like so many others, can say nothing but good about the hosts, setting, food and facilities. What we wanted to add in particular was the advantageous position of the inn for several of the Virginia Birding and Wildlife trails (Mathews and Gloucester loops, among others). Port Haywood makes a great base for exploring the landscape and wildlife of both shore and woodland and would be a worthwhile destination during spring and fall migration. Apart from the natural assets, the town of Mathews and surrounding area has excellent and charming eateries. Overall, a memorable experience!

My husband and I just returned from a weekend getaway to the Inn at Tabbs Creek. This is such a peaceful, quiet, and relaxing B and B. I simply have nothing negative to say. The innkeepers are great...breakfast was delicious. There were so many small touches that made it so nice...wine happy hour, screened porch, chairs on the dock, fire pit with smores, corn hole, bocce ball, bikes, canoe, kayaks...did I mention the pool and super comfy beds.

We have been returning to the Inn at least annually since Lori and Greg began hosting there. A warm and welcoming couple who make each guest feel at home. The setting is gorgeous, with water views from inside or out. The fabulous breakfasts alone are worth the stay; Greg is a most creative and most considerate chef, catering to every guest's dietary needs. Plenty of activity options, including a boat tour for the flavor and history of Mathews and surrounding waters. Just left and anxious to again visit The Inn.

Room Tip: The Captain's Room is the best: second floor with westerly water view.

The Inn was gorgeous, and the location is amazing! We enjoyed staying in the Captain's Room, with a wonderful view of the water. Breakfasts were delicious, and the Saturday wine and cheese was such a nice extra touch. The innkeepers are friendly, and they made us feel right at home. We tried SUP for the first time, roasted marshmallows over the campfire, and explored the area. It was such a great way to get away from work and relax!

Our friends came down from New Hampshire specifically to check out this Inn after hearing us talk about it so much. It's our favorite B&B! The Inn is a beautifully decorated old farmhouse at the end of a tree-lined drive-very private. All the rooms are so inviting and warm. Everything you could possibly want in a cozy or romantic Inn is there. The beds are very comfortable. Each room has a view. The breakfast in the morning is a delectable delight, made from food grown at the Inn or locally. It's made fresh by the owner and different each time. The sunsets are perfect to watch from either the fire pit or out on the pier on the chairs. Bikes and kayaks are available for use with many places to explore and discover in the area. We highly recommend this Inn, and will be sure to return again for a fourth time! Jo & Tim Lucero

Room Tip: If you're looking for quiet and a bit more room, choose the other building across from the pool...
