“What a welcome!”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

We spent three rainy days with Audrey and John. Due to the weather, our activities were limited but our hosts made up for this by their warmth and hospitality. The breakfasts were to die for and set us up each day. Their home was open to us at all times. We would have no hesitation in recommending this as a base for your stay in the Bay of Islands.

Thank you for your kind review, you were so unlucky with the weather. We hope you can make it back to the Beautiful Bay of Islands again and you get to see the beautiful blue sky.

The four of us enjoyed a fabulous 3 night stay with John and Audrey who were super friendly hosts.Nothing was too much trouble for them and they had great knowledge of the Bay of Islands. The location of their home is breathtaking. We were greeted with homemade cakes and tea on arrival including gluten free cakes for one of us - a very special treat! The breakfasts have to be seen to be believed - no lunch needed!!!! The lodge is beautiful, rooms are spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Views from both rooms are great. Thank you John & Audrey for making our stay in the Bay of Islands so memorable. Pam&Bruce & Pat & David

This was our third visit to Point Veronica Lodge in the beautiful Bay of Islands, which speaks for itself. John and Audrey are truly wonderful hosts. There is always a great welcome on arriving with drinks & home made cakes and the breakfasts are beyond description with a gigantic choice of homemade products. The lodge is ideally situated with fantastic views over the beautiful garden, the estuary and the bay, especially from the bedrooms and living rooms . John and Audrey are happy to share all their knowledge about places of local interest. After a day's sight seeing it was nice to relax in the hot tub. Perhaps one day we may be able to make a fourth visit from the UK!

Room Tip: Both bedrooms have excellent views and are similar.

The perfect base for a stay in the Bay of Islands area - John and Audrey are wonderful, friendly, informative hosts and the location, accommodation and food are excellent.
If (hopefully when!) we are again able to visit this area, this would certainly be our first choice of where to stay.

We selected this b&b from their web site and the reality was even more stunning.Whilst there are a few surrounding properties you hardly notice them and it was quiet and peaceful at all times. The location was very handy to Paihia for shops and restaurants, the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, and just a short ferry crossing to Russell. Audrey and John were excellent hosts and attented to every need. They attend to all dietary needs, and Audrey baked a special cake for our arrival, and even supplied us with the recipe ! There was a hot tub that guests could use, but unfortunately we did not have the time to use it on our short stay. The bedroom was very comfortable and the breakfeast were excellent. This is certainly a place we will visit again if we are fortunate enough to visit New Zealand another time.

John Audrey are the most gracious and accommodating couple we have found. Breakfasts are everything you can imagine from hot foods to fruits, cereals, home made jams and yoghurts. Their local knowledge of places to visit are spot on and they are also very interesting to get to know. Room was very comfortable and clean always. Loved the spa with a view over the bay. Would definitely recommend a stay here and we will be returning.

First rate B&B, thoroughly lives up to the other comments posted on here.
We booked after reading the Trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. Breakfast made to order, really good quality food.
Views from this lovely quiet B&B were outstanding, this was our first real night in NZ after leaving the Airport Motel used for our arrival night, to walk through the house and be confronted by the view out over the Bay Of Islands was breath taking.
Excellent hosts who really know how to make you feel at home and relaxed.
Evenings finished off with a glass or two of wine and a chance to get to know your hosts or the fellow guests.
One large table for breakfast makes for a friendly jovial start to the day.
