This place is magnificent. The pools have different temperatures so you soon found the one that suits you. We were offered an umbrella which shaded us from the hot sun. Well worth the $5/adult entrance fee. Take water.

Read about these hot springs and was eager to try out..... few of us took the drive up from coast late in the arvo..... greeted by the subtle stench of sulfur. ... but didnt deter us hardy lot.... about 15 pools of varying temps.. some with mud to slather over yourself if it turns you on..!
Some fab locals telling us yarns of great battles and storys of the mud therapeutic qualities..... needless to say i jumped out of there feeling like a 30 year old.... sadly there were none around. ...! !
But great place and cheap as mud at $5..
Happy days

A hidden gem up north of Auckland. Amazing place with very cheap price. Admission is Only NZ$5 per adult.
More than ten pools and if the temperature of the pool is higher than 45 degrees it will be closed.
Friendly amd helpful staff.
Its good to know that the place will have renovation soon. Looking forward to see the new site.

My partner and I came here on quite a hot afternoon. A few of the pools were closed due to the temperatures being too hot so we only got to enjoy about 6 of them however it was so worth it! We can’t wait until we are back in New Zealand to revisit this place. It is certainly worth the price and when you compare it to a spa in Rotorua (we paid over $100 for a hot spring and mud pool experience) this is well worth it at $5 per adult. The man who served us was friendly and walked us around the pools giving us information on each and informed us on which ones we could go in. He regularly checked on us which showed the service is great. If you are in the area it’s a must to check out. If you aren’t in the area then I definitely recommend you find the time to do so. From the Aussie couple! :)

The facilities are quite basic and have seen a lot of wear, but there's a government architectural update plan affixed to the outside, so it seems the place will get a much-needed new entry/cafe/changing facility sometime soon. The bubbling dark brown/black mineral pools, all at various temps that evidently change all day long, are certainly relaxing. Each one is measured a few times a day with the temperatures posted on a sign and are side and bottom-framed in wood for ease of entry/exit. White pools start at briskly cold to the hottest pools you can enter around 44 C. Fun to kill an hour trying various pools.
