My daughter and I were only in Kerikeri one night. I had eaten at the restaurant which is on the same site as the cottages and thought let's stay in the cottage and have dinner here. The cottage is self contained with a big bathroom, separate bedroom, living, dining kitchen open plan. A deck out the front and surrounded by garden. Other cottages are near but not close enough to bother. We were greeted warmly and everything explained clearly. We were lucky to have good weather. We walked to the restaurant through the tropical canopy and walked back along the lit path. My recommendations would be to have a torch to walk back from the restaurant and they have umbrella in the cottage in case it was raining, but maybe have a spare one. Most pleasant stay.
