We went on a wet winter day and centre was closed and no guides to bring it to life. You pay a few dollars in a honesty box and can wander around the site. It was looking a bit tired and in need of some TLC.

What a cool place, never knew it really existed until we went for a walk one day .... well worth a browse around, and the lovely lady at the counter is awesome, she is welcoming and knowledgable, we spent ages there looking around - was amazing to see where Kerikeri had 'sprung' from, well worth a visit!

This place is depressing. Even more so on a rainy day which just reflects the drabness and lifelessness of the place. A dump actually and absolutely nothing interesting.

After living so many years up here in Northland we decided to take the kids to Rewa's Village. So glad we did, it was very informative and interesting to wander around the village imagining what it must have been like way back then.

The reconstructed pre-settlement Maori fishing village is very well done. Gives a good indication of what Maori life would have been like then. There is a great video presentation, about 15mins, all about the early history of the area when Europeans first arrived, well worth seeing.

There are great views from the village across the river to the Stone Store and Kemp House.

The NZD$10 admission price is money well spent.

The staff are friendly, as are the chickens and roosters in the car park!
