“Excellent experience. ..especially for the money!”

Bay of Islands Sailing/Gungha II

Completely enjoyable experience. Relaxing and interesting. Fun small mixed group of different ages and nationalities. For the money, this was my favorite activity in our 10 active days in New Zealand. Yummy picnic style lunch and snacks made by the captain himself.

We went out on an all day sail with Mike. Very relaxing, great opportunity to chat with folks from all over the world, opportunities to help sail the vessel, great scenery, saw several pods of dolphins up close, good food, great views from the top of the uninhabited island we stopped over for lunch at, and many fascinating stories by Mike. Would highly recommend this trip for those wanting a variety of activities for the day as well as some downtime.

Our group of 5 sailed with Mike - this was the highlight of our trip! Excellent food, views, and experience. We sailed around seeing where the wind would take us (with some of our group helping to sail), and then anchored at one of the islands to go for a kayak and a hike - too cold in October to swim. Came back to the Gungha II for a delicious lunch and sailed around some more. Great price for such an awesome experience and for the duration. Perfect for groups that have some who want to sail and others who want to relax. We highly recommend this trip to others.

We have sailed with Mike and the Gungha 2 crew 3 times over the past few years and it is always an enjoyable, memorable trip. We HIGHLY recommend this experience to everyone visiting the Bay of Islands.

Mike was awesome... really good job - awesome day sailing & amazing to see the dolphins swim right up to the boat & start jumping out...

Also beautiful little bay where we swam - only criticism would be the sandwich lunch, wasnt great & I normally expect better food on a trip like this but it was still an amazing day
