My husband and I have just returned form a wonderful two -night stay at Puketotara Lodge. The hosts John and Mutsuo are extremely convivial people. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was top class. We felt so much at home in these beautiful relaxing surroundings. Mutsuo is a fantastic cook. Our breakfasts were beautifully laid out and absolutely delicious. The king-sized room we stayed in was tastefully decorated, comfortable and spotless. We loved the animals, gardens, the golf course ,and the stunning river at the bottom of the property.John and Mutsuo are obviously taking a great deal of pride in the on-going development of this property, and are excellent hosts. We highly recommend Puketotara Lodge as a great place to relax and unwind in luxury and naturally beautiful surroundings. We will certainly be treating ourselves to another holiday here soon.

Room Tip: All rooms share a very pleasant outlook.

If you want somewhere to 'get away from it all' then Puketotara Lodge in Kerikeri is the place!
My partner and I spent two wonderful relaxing nights at Puketotara Lodge. Matsuo and John both welcomed us to the Lodge and made us feel welcome and at home.
The view from our lovely room was so beautiful, that we just wanted to look at it all day.
Matsuo provided us with a fantastic breakfast each morning and worked around whatever time suited us.
This was a weekend that we will remember very fondly.

Room Tip: We stayed at the King room at the very end of the lodge - was was stunning and private.

Our family of my husband and I and our two children stayed at the Puketotara Lodge last year. We travelled from the South Island and we were very excited about our trip. We were completely and utterly blown away by the hospitality and welcoming we received at the Lodge. The hosts John and Musto were so accommodating and nothing was a problem. We stayed in the adjoining cottage with it's own spa pool. The Cottage was clean, comfortable and warm. On arrival in our fridge was some fresh eggs, juice and some other goodies. The hosts at this place go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Any one that travels with children will appreciate it can be stressful taking to Motels, Hotels etc not at this place! My children loved exploring the grounds, looking at the horses, wandering around with Hannah the lovely Labrador in toe. We loved it and every day after returning from a busy day exploring the beautiful region it was awesome to come 'home' and sit in the spa with a glass of wine and take in the amazing views from our deck.

Thankyou, for making our holiday was awesome! We will be back :)

Room Tip: We stayed in the adjoining two bedroom cottage - awesome for families

My fiancee and I were very fortunate to be the only guests at the lodge for the two nights we stayed. We were made to feel right at home by both Mutsuo and John. Mutsuo's culinary skills are first class and their hospitality couldn't have made us feel more welcome.
John insisted we check out the whole property in a golf cart and we were glad we did. The river, swimming hole, 6 hole golf course, massive deck, spa pool, impeccable views and surroundings make this place one to highly recommend.

Thanks guys. We will return.

Room Tip: I don't think there's a bad room in the lodge.

My husband and I have just spent three nights at Puketotara Lodge. We're Aucklanders who have been to the Bay of Islands many times, we love the area and were expecting to have a fabulous weekend. We were blown away, Puketotara Lodge is not just a place to stay while you explore the beautiful North - it is a destination in itself !
The owners and hosts, John and Mutuso have created a very special piece of paradise to escape to. There is everything you expect .... lovely accommodation, stunning views - even from bed, beautiful wine, mouth watering food (thank you Mutuso!) and wonderfully wicked conversation and company. Plus on the property and an easy stroll from the lodge you can have a hit of golf, try your hand at trout fishing, just relax by the beautiful stream and of course take a walk over the fabulous property with Hannah your delightful four-footed escort.
We had the most wonderful weekend and are already looking forward to our next stay. We both can not recommend Puketotara Lodge highly enough.
