“Stunning views”
Reviewed January 5, 2012

We (two couples - Dad, Mum, son and daughter-in-law) had 2 nights in this modern, purpose-built B&B outside KeriKeri set in rolling countryside, but still only an 8 minute drive from town. The third guest room was unoccupied during our stay. The Stone Store is even closer, from where the river walk to Rainbow Falls (1 hour one way) winds through pleasant woods. The B&B itself is stylish and spotlessly clean and there is a comfortable private lounge for the use of guests; the small guests' kitchenette was essentially unused during our stay. Views are stunning and the setting is quite beautiful. Chris was working both days we were there, but Mike looked after us faultlessly. The small swimming pool would have been a delightful place to relax if the weather had been warmer, but there is plenty to do in the area - despite a power cut one day in Kerikeri making shopping difficult!
We'd recommend the Pear Tree Restaurant for dinner, the Black Olive for an informal supper and the Ake Ake winery for wine-tasting and lunch.

We had 3 nights in this wonderful B&B out of the main hub of KeriKeri but still only an 8 minute drive from town with the most beautiful area around Stone Store only a few minutes away (the river walk highly recommended- 1 hr to Rainbow falls one way). The house itself is very stylish, modern and spotlessly clean and the private lounge was very nicely set up, and small kitchenette very useful. Views are spectacular and the setting is beautiful. Chris and Mike went out of their way to ensure our stay was extremely comfortable and enjoyable despite 3 days of rain! - The 3D Tv and Blu-ray certainly helped and there is till ample to do in the area even in the rain, as they pointed out. Mike also booked our NYE night out, and we had a fabulous meal in a local restaurant with organised taxi service free of charge!
Looking forward to staying again on our return, we can't recommednd this place enough and we will certainly be back! Thanks Mike & Chris and Happy New Year once again!
Also recommend the Pear Tree Restaurant, Makana Confections, Marsden Estate Winery and lunch at the Cafe Blue.

First class property, situated in a fabulous spot, with stunning views over rolling hills down to the Bay of Plenty, yet only minutes away from the town centre. We felt very much at home, even with a family of 4 staying at the same time. The guest lounge and all facilities for visitors provide such privacy that we did not encroach on anyone and also gave the opportunity to be social, if desired. Thank you to Chris & Mike for such a lovely stay. Will definitely recommend to friends touring the North Island.

Thank you for taking the time to post your lovely review, we enjoyed meeting you both and hope that we will see you again sometime.

(Just a small point we live in the Bay of Islands not the Bay of Plenty.)

I found this place for a single night's stay in kerikeri. Me and my friend were told on the phone they trusted us and they did not typically take credit card details. We arrived at a beautifully built building, with a diligently looked after garden. We were most warmly welcomed, served snacks and hot tea and coffee. The room smelt lovely, was clean and had plenty of towels, a big walk in wardrobe and a fantastic balcony which looked out onto the spacious backyard, a bit of the ocean, the clean and beautifully looked after pool.

Breakfast was cooked promptly and most deliciously by Mike, one of the hosts, and I particularly enjoyed the homely setting. It felt like i was visiting my own family.

Mike and Chris seemed to genuinely enjoy looking after this b&b and seemd proud and confident. They were an absolute pleasure to deal with.

It is located in a rural area so can be a little tricky to find at night time as there is no street lighting. However everything else was fantastic

Chris and Mike are wonderful hosts, very welcoming. The B & B is nestled in the country, but still close enough to town. We found our stay very restful and quiet - the only sounds we heard were the baby birds nestled in a nearby tree. We had a very enjoyable breakfast with another couple staying. The room was really spacious and had everything you needed. We only wished our stay could be longer and look forward to returning soon.

3 Couples stayed with Chris & Mike for one night in August 2011. They are perfect hosts with a beautiful home. The bedrooms are well set up for privacy yet the guest lounge is great for getting together for a chat and a pre dinner drink. Mike cooked a wonderful breakfast for us. Basically our stay was everything that we wanted, exceeded our expectations and we have nothing negative to say. AWESOME!!
