Quite often it's the places that you wouldn't have gone to without a recommendation and this place is no exception. We were suggested to go by our host and probably wouldn't have dropped in otherwise from the outside as the restaurant isn't fancy or garish.
The parking is across the road in the supermarket car park, but it's literally a 2 minute walk so isn't a problem at all. You can bring your own or choose from a very reasonably priced selection in the restaurant (we found a bottle at the same price as we'd bought it for at the cellar door).
The wait staff were friendly and helpful, which you needed as the menu selection was vast. We had calamari to start and had to select of the 3 calamari entrees they had! Just to be awkward we had two slightly different dishes to see it was the same base calamari, but with a different sauce. But both dishes were completely different and had obviously been cooked from scratch by hand and were delicious.
The mains were equally perfect and the attention to detail by the chef really showed through.
If you are in the area do visit if you can, and try to book as it's quite small so can fill up easily

this is a superb restaurant in a tiny little package. Me and my wife both had the pasta and it was cooked perfectly with tons of fresh flavours. The couple who run this place did a great job as it was very busy but this just added to the atmosphere of a wonderful evening. I would recommend this place to pasta lovers like ourselves.

Cesare and his family run a fabulous restaurant. Warm, welcoming, great service and positively THE BEST pasta I have ever eaten (and that's including in Italy!) All my family love the food here and the fact that you can BYO is a real bonus. Highly recommended

Cesare's italian food was superb. He makes his bread and pasta and sauces and this place was the nearest I've come to experiencing real italian food outside of Italy. I had his own recipe of seafood fettucine which included generous amounts of scallops and prawns and his homemade sausage - exquisite. This is home style italian food, the place is quite small so important to book. A nice personal touch was Cesare coming around the tables to have a quick chat with his customers once he had completed his last order. I wish we were staying more nights to return to try more of his extensive menu.
