Very pretty walk and falls. Toilets available. Historic significance as early power supply for white settlers. Short distance from Kerikeri.

These falls are beautiful and they are just there for anyone to enjoy with no commercialism, paths and viewing platforms to get right next to the top of the falls, and a track leading away from the Falls all the way to the Stone Store in the Kerikeri historic buildings area. The largely bush-walk takes about 45 minutes at a good clip though, and if no-one is meeting you at the other end you'll have to walk back, perhaps after a drink in the cafe at the end of the walk. It's a lovely walk in both directions, beside the river, past another smaller waterfall and sometimes far above the river. You do need a car to get to the Falls unless you take this walk, as not really close enough to the centre of Kerikeri for a stroll.

Rainbow falls is quite beautiful. A very easy walk to a number of viewing platforms and an easy track to the bottom.

It's located after a short walk in a pleasant area, but it's not like Niagara Falls. There is a style nearby which is somewhat interesting, too.
