Lovely atmosphere, good service but mostly-- AMAZING food.
I had a chilli and garlic prawn salad as entree with a wasabi mayo, it was stunning.

Similarly, the eye fillet main came perfectly cooked (med rare) and was overall a great experience.

This a really special place. Delicious food, imaginatively put together and obviously prepared with care, and friendly, welcoming staff. I had the lamb and haloumi on orzo with a chickpea salad and it was superbly moreish. Ake Ake's wine's are very nice too. I doubt there is anywhere better to eat in the Bay of Islands, and it is also surprisingly good value. A real treat.

The setting is lovely, the choice of wines extensive & the 2 wines we had with our meals were excellent. The staff were extremely helpful & friendly. We couldn't fault the food - my husband's steak was cooked to perfection & I was overjoyed to discover old fashioned rhubarb trifle on the menu.

This a quiet little restaurant in a winery setting and we antucpated that it might be very busy in the lead up to XMAS. We did expect the food would ge more than average but were quite surpised with the good presentation and quality. The service was great from both the restaurant. Sadly on the day we were there it was very quiet. The menu was quite traditional and some lower priced options may attract a broader lunch participation. It was however enjoyable.
