We stopped here for brunch after visiting the Stone Store. The sandwich board on the road drew our attention to there being a cafe here. So down the drive we went, got a park and then made our way to the cafe/restaurant after navigating around one of the staff members large work vehichle parked in the main customer entrance walk way...hmmmm not wise on a Saturday morning prime customer entrance time. Nice location, great outdoor area and helpful staff. Normal brunch menu options you would expect to see but overpriced, our Eggs Bene that wasnt special and at $24 its taking the mickey...honestly if it was outstanding Id think OK but we had better down then road the next day and for $16 and as nice a location/environment. For locals price may not be an issue one a week for brunch but for travellers when all you are doing is constantly paying out this is over the top for a basic breakfast dish. Wouldnt recommend based on this experience.

Thank you for your thoughts, we take all reviews seriously and try to improve where we can.
We have a gem of cafe and work very hard to maintain standards and quality.
We do use high quality ingredients, a lot of which are organic, free range and spray free, and we feel our prices are fair when we offer these products. There are many places to purchase an eggs benedict, at alot of those, the hollandaise sauce would be from a packet ( not at wharepuke) and hence the price may be lower for a product which is priced fairly.
There are cheaper options on the menu and that is i suppose why we have a menu, to give people the choice of what they want to eat, clearly priced.!
As to our vehicle being at the front of the building, this area serves as a service entrance and is there to stop guests walking through , or parking in the service entrance.
This however may be something we need to look at changing, so thank you for your comments.

My goodness..we had a great night out with four of us
I chose Scallops as a main, mother had Pork Belly , one other had the Venison pie and another the eye fillet. ALL meals were supurb but my only regret was the Pork Belly was not in front of me!..it really is quite something. Our German waitress had excellent english and a good knowledge of the menus. She said the mains will be at least 30 minutes ( a nice touch i thought )..they were in fact a little longer but it was really nice to be told up front....and they were a little busy that night.
Over all, incredibly well presented and cooked meals with a Chocolate Belguim pot ( could have been a bit more gooey in the middle)..but hot and very chocolatey!)
Wharepuke is a definate must on any person who enjoys fine dining and fine food in a most beautiful setting

We have eaten here a dozen times over 2 years and always come back. "Would you come back" is an acid test of quality, value and service. it is rear indeed that many places get past the second or third visit. Their fish specials are always fresh and beautifully cooked and the Thai accent adds zest and tasty interest.
