In March we spent a relaxing week at Lyness accommodation in the self contained cottage. Great accommodation for a couple overlooking the KeriKeri inlet.
Sharon and Adrian were very hospitable hosts. They were happy to have a chat about the area and travel in general.
Well appointed cottage with adequate kitchen with verandah overlooking the inlet and countryside.
Easy drive or decent walk to KeriKeri town. Easy drive to other towns in Bay of Islands.
Quite a few good eating establishments in town. Can recommend the meal deal at the KeriKeri cinema and dinner at Cafe Jerusalem. For a good basic pub style meal the RSA returned services club is recommended.
One real highlight on our trip was a day cruise on the R Tucker Thomson tall ship from Russell. The $145 for the day was excellent value with great BBQ lunch included. The day trip included option to climb the rigging, jump off a rope swing into the bay and swim to one of the many small islands. Not only was it a great experience it was good to know that a proportion if the profits go to support sailing trips for you people as part of youth training programs. A great friendly crew with Captain Steve and his crew making it a real fun day. Fellow passengers came all around the world.
KeriKeri is on our list for another visit.
