A lovely welcome awaits , could be in the middle of nowhere . peacefull and pretty with the sounds of native birds and the scent of Jasmine ... The glass if wine and home made cookies on arrival is a really nice touch.
The cabins are very private and furnished to a high standard with excellent bathrooms, the shower was powerfull ( which makes a change ) and height adjustable ( which also makes a change for us who are on the tall side)
Andrea & Alan are great hosts and the only down side was that we couldn't stay longer !! However we will be back ..

Room Tip: They're all great !!

We stayed here for 3 nights during the school holidays. I spent ages trying to find a place in Kerikeri to suit and was so pleased we struck the jackpot. Nestled in the trees near the Stone Store, the motel is so quiet and peaceful. We had a one-bedroomed unit which was so lovely and quiet. Alan and Andrea were the perfect hosts and had home-baked cookies and a glass of wine for us when we arrived. I couldnt rave enough. Thank you so much - just what we wanted !

Room Tip: We had the one bedroom unit but am sure the studios will be FAB too

A one-nighter, and we arrived early, whilst the units were being cleaned, but it was no trouble to the lovely hostess to get us into a room asap. We had #10, which has disabled person facilities, though we didn't need them. The room is bright & sunny, quiet....except for the lovely sound of tui feeding on the flowering cherry trees! A really comfortable bed, clean room, complementary milk ( & glass of wine if you want!)

Thanks for your review and a million sorries for the belated response.
Glad you came early and glad we had your room ready.
Everybody loves the Tui's and they do chatter a lot!
Come and stay again and maybe have that glass of wine...?

Thanks for our kind review. and apologies for the belated response. Yes we are very quiet because of being away from the road, and also because of the traffic diverted along the bypass.
The birds love the peace too, and you saw the beautiful monarch butterflies.

We do try our best to look after your needs and we are glad you appreciated that. Please come and stay with us nxt time you come to beautifiul Kerikeri.

I always love staying at Colonial house motel and have been lucky enough to do so often in the last couple of years. Andrea and Alan are so welcoming and make you feel right at home - nothing is too much trouble. The motel itself is set in beautiful grounds and when it's warm nothing beats cooling down in the tropical feel swimming pool. The units are clean and fresh and well positioned. I have recommended it to friends and family and they too have always had a lovely time.
I intend to stay there again when I am next in Kerikeri.

Room Tip: The 2 bed unit that opens onto the pool is the best one in my book. Briliant!

We stayed two nights at the Colonial House Motel during our trip around the North Island, and would rate it among the best of the motels we stayed at. The hosts are really welcoming, friendly and helpful; the units are nice and well-equipped (and with lots of free SkyTV-channels). The motel is situated in a really pleasant and quiet location in a subtropical garden-like setting, but still within walking distance of the town. We would definitely recommend it.
