“A nice getaway!”

We bought a deal on Treatme to use over Labour Weekend. Ours was the Maddison Suite. Lovely large bright and airy. Very tastefully decorated. A wonderful comfortable kingsize bed with a kingsize bathroom to match. The only down side is that you can hear all of the noise from down stairs in the diningroom and kitchen. This does tend to settle down around 11pm though.

Room Tip: We can only comment on the Maddison Room. The aim of our weekend away was to catch up on much neede...

We took the dinner and night package at the special $199 rate for a themed room and dinner for 2. I think at that price it was good value - at the suggested normal price of $400 or so I would have felt it was a little excessive.

Good; Interesting decor, on the main road with an upstairs balcony so you can sit out in the sun and watch the world go by, friendly service, good food, clean room, comfy bed.

Average; a bit of traffic and bar noise - upsetting for light sleepers who don't go to bed comatose, not very flexible with duration of offer for specials so be in quick or miss out, (or end up with the rooms which look like a sultan's bathroom, (actually I would have liked one of those but the Mrs said no), only enough coffee in the room for 2 cups, no morning paper.

Bad; nothing really.

We got a great special through "Grab one" for $199 for the night in a theme room and a three course dinner. We looked at the website and from there chose the Ruby room for our stay. It was a lovely room and had a balcony which got the afternoon sun. The bathroom was large with new white towels and nice toiletries. The restaurant was excellent with exceptional service. So glad we stayed here.
There is a good coffee shop up the road - Kahoots. Greytown is a pleasant spot to have a night away.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a balcony. Each of the seven rooms in the main part of the hotel have a different...

We spent a few nights here and really enjoyed it. One night in The Madison Suite and the other in The Red Room. The Madison was huge - light and airy with a long balcony, The Red Room slightly smaller, red (obviously) and er, very mirrored shall we say! Had a really nice stay here though: enjoyed the rooms and the restaurant. The food was of a very high quality with service to match. Definitely worth a visit if you fancy something different from the usual chain.

Room Tip: The Madison Suite overlooks a car mechanics so there was a lot of electric tools operating during th...

We used a Park Studio upstairs. The bed was dreadful, worn, over used and needs replacing. Soft, roll in the middle beds are a thing of the past and it's a surprise to find accommodation in NZ having not updated such a thing. The room is tired, the bathroom really dated, very mean with towels, one facecloth for two faces etc-immediately think this place is in trouble. No where to put anything in the bathroom, no shelf etc. Very loud plumbing noise from the one other room in use in our area that night.

Room Tip: Don't pay the full rate.

We just spent a night at The White Swan - in Maddison Room - for our wedding anniversary. The room was lovely - very roomy. Included in the package was a 3 course dinner. The food was outstanding - as good as you would get anywhere! The waitress was fantastic, and nothing was too much trouble.

Room Tip: Choose a back room, by the carpark to avoid the road noise.

Stayed here again through a TreatMe voucher- includes 1 night in a deluxe suite and 3 course dinner for $199! What a deal! Stayed at the Ruby room on the 5th. Room was great- clean, decorated and bathrom was stocked with essentials. Dinner was lovely as expected with us gettig an entree, main and dessert each. Drinks weren't pricey either. Although only thing was the place was busy on a Sunday and there seemed to only be one server at any time and you had to draw their attention to get any service- I guess if you are in a hurry this might be annoying. Overall, well worth it for stay and dinner at that price- as my bf said, dinner alone probably would've cost $100. Will stay again if deal comes up :)
