We had a wonderful stay here a few months ago. We went in July (mid winter in NZ) and were very comfortable in our little cottage. Its very well appointed, and super comfy, with a lounge area, small (but useable) kitchen and a bedroom area and bathroom. I loved the fireplace- a nice gas fire that kept the place cosy. There was underfloor heating in the bathroom too.
We had a package that included breakfast and dinner for both nights. We ate like kings!! The food was amazing.
I loved the staff, they were super friendly. They asked about our days and gave us ideas of things to do around there in the winter time.
We would love to go back again. It was a perfect anniversary trip.

We booked a Lakeside view cottage for two nights on the Website at a rate of $312.00 per night.
The room was OK, and the facilities average, compared to Peppers Broadbeach, it was average for the price paid,
Given that there is nothing in Martinborough other than Wineries, not much to do here.Although the drive to Ngwai and lunch at the Lake Ferry Hotel was relaxing.
although we booked a Lakeside view, there was no view, as the native trees had grown up in front of the deck (Room 9 ).
The Carpet/rug in the living area was filthy, with black marks all over it.
I thought that the TV was a little small for the size of the room, and the channels listed in Visitors Information not being available.
Also I would have thought that Free WiFi would be available.
The breakfasts were nothing special, but filled the need.
Staff were very good..

We enjoyed 2 night at Peppers Parehua around NYE. The cottage room was very nice and cosy - made us feel at home straight away. It was clean, and the room is equipped with a kitchenette. Though the hotel is slightly out of town, it takes only 10-15 min to walk to the central square.

Breakfast buffet was good - the standard selection of hotel breakfast buffets but the quality was good.

There is just some details the hotel needs to improve on - especially given the price. Even though we stayed 2 nights, the room didn't get services/cleaned in between, nor were the toiletries renewed (which meant no shampoo the 2nd morning). Also there is a Nespresso-type coffee machine in the room, but after the 2 complimentary pods they cost $1,50 - a bit cheeky for a $400/night room.

Gorgeous accommodations in Martinborough located next to vineyards. Our casita included a living room and full kitchen as well as bed and bathroom. We felt as if we were home with all ammenities. Definitely recommended and a short 10 minute walk to town.
Breakfast included and the service was A+.

A dull hotel in a dull town. To be fair, wine is not my thing so the location was not a real grab for me although it is relatively close to some coastal areas which are worth seeing. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was very well designed and furnished; the drawback was that all the other apartments are crammed in so that you have to close bedroom curtains for any privacy not that there was any sort of view. Its also completely fly invested so all windows must remain closed at all times.

There is a restaurant on site, but it was nothing particularly special and service was very hit and miss. We ordered wine, it was poured, with quite some spillage, and then we were told it was not chilled and an ice bucket would be provided; we sent it back. Seriously, the whole point of this area is wine, surely a hotel with seemingly good reviews can handle storing and serving wine? The restaurant is also fly invested. People can say that is just a fact of life in this part of the country, but does this mean pest control is not available? Food was good, but not amazing. The menu is pre-printed so does not appear to vary much which surprised us as we were under the impression it had a renowned chef - we may have been mistaken.

The pool was ok, children liked it. there is also a tennis court but did not use that. Overall, dull is the best word to describe this peppers; would not return.

Kia Ora Paul,

Thank you for your review on our town Martinbough and our resort. It is unfortunate to read wine is not your thing as Martinborough produces some of the best wines in the world and the main reason why people visit our thriving town.

Most people find our 2 Bedroom cottages to be extremely private as each one is set in its own garden, we feel that they are well spread and private - however thank you for your feedback.

Our restaurant does have lovely food and our menu changes seasonally however we do have a different soup dish, different fish dish and restaurant specials available throughout the week.
Our special reserve cellar wines, are stored in our cellar to enhance the characteristics this would not be achieved if the wine was stored under refrigeration.

After two weeks of hotels in NZ this has to be the best so far!
Beautiful lake view lodge consisting of well equipped kitchen, separate lounge with real gas fire, large bathroom with heated floor/towel rails, outdoor deck and a very nice bedroom area.
Everything was exceptionally done and we loved it.
They have a fine dining room and the food there was just as good. We had mushroom soup to die for, the lamb and feta/spinach pie were just as good.
Service and cleanliness was excellent.
Highly recommended.

Recently stayed here for one night with my husband and another couple. We stayed in a garden room and it was really lovely. More of a suite. Very modern chic and spacious.

Dinner in the restaurant was very good although very little choice.

Breakfast was included and for a buffet we were very impressed.
A lovely end to a fun day of cycling around the vineyards.
