I arrived late for mid-week (6:30 pm) I got a call an hour earlier saying my key would be in an envelope in reception, and we look forward to seeing you in the morning. The hotel is a little gem, and coming in late is still like coming home, the fire was on in the lounge. On the Square in Martinborough it is really lovely, but mid-week in winter don't be surprised if you are the only person out and about.

My room was classic old school hotel, clean and comfortable.

Meeting the staff in the morning, they were very friendly and genuinely please to meet you.

Would stay again.

The hotel was marvelous. The staff could not have been more helpful. It was a bit of a rainy day, so we inquired about a movie theater. She whips out a printed listing of times and titles of the shows ! She told us about the wine center, which gave us the wineries that were open, and times. We sat in the library with a bottle of wine in front of the fire. The grill attached to the hotel has $10 pizza, which was delish. The garden rooms were spacious and very clean. Even in the winter, this sleepy little wine town was amazing!

Beautifully refurbished hotel right in the middle of town. Staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was comfortable and clean with a huge bathroom and a verandah overlooking the main square. Plenty of wonderful cafés within walking distance and close to several wineries. Would definitely stay here again!

Spent a night in one of the garden rooms. Very spacious, well appointed and one of the most comfortable hotel beds. Reception staff were very welcoming, explained the set up, use of lounge and library areas. It was very good value for a superbly located hotel right in the centre of the town. There are a good number of cafés in the area. The wine centre opposite was a good places to visit to get information on the area.

So pleased your full Martinborough visit was a good one! It is a very special little town and hotel. The Garden rooms are very good and quite a few people don't actually know of them. Lovely, quiet, good size too!

Hope to see you back again soon.

This is the second time we've stayed here but were disappointed this time. We were upgraded to a larger room which was very nice but the bath/shower set up is woeful & results in water everywhere throughout the bathroom resulting in all the towels being used to soak up the mess.
When I mentioned it to staff on checkout they claimed to know nothing about the problem but you only have to look at the damaged Lino in there to know that it's a regular occurrence. Other than that we had a great night & the high standards of service & food from our previous visit were maintained & it was lovely to have a few wines in front of the fireplace

Thank you for the feedback. So sorry we fell short of your expectations. The shower has been repaired at least since your feedback. We apologise for the problems which in turn spoilt your second stay. We do hope we can redeem ourselves should you consider coming back to Martinborough soon.

Stayed for 2 nights in March. Unfortunately it coincided with horrendous wet weather so were unable to use the lovely balcony. However, the facilities in the room were fine: comfortable bed, large & very clean bathroom. The only grumble we had was, the lighting in the room wasn't great, we switched on all the lights in order to read late at night, & it was still quite dim.
Very helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Had breakfast at the restaurant downstairs, (poached eggs & coffee) which was very good. The location was good & no noise from the town just below us.

Thank you for staying with us recently and sorry to hear the weather was not fantastic. I have sent your feedback to our General Manager regarding the lights as when the weather is poorly, good to have good lighting.

Do appreciate the feedback and hopefully an area where we'll improve. Great to hear you enjoyed the breakfast!

It is a superb hotel right in the centre of Martinborough within the wine region. It has been completely refurbished. The rooms are beautiful and large. We had a balcony overlooking the main square and a rolled top bath in our room. There is a restaurant and a pub attached to it. The staff were all very friendly and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Aske for a room with a rolled top bath or if you wish a quieter room there are rooms at the back ib...

So pleased you enjoyed the stay and the comfort of your room. Each one is special in it's own way. We are also very lucky with our location and looking forward to the Olive Festival market at the end of the month which will be on our doorstep in the square!

Thank you for the feedback.
