Martinborough Motel
Reviewed April 7, 2012

The motel is very clean and homely, the owners Colin and Gail are the best of the best, they go out of their way to accommodate every whim, We have stayed there for years running and have taken family form overseas, The breakfasts are outstanding whether you have continental or the full English, which is just like your mum makes, they even made a special breakfast for my daughter, there is a bbq and beautiful garden which is perfect to drink a bottle of local wine and eat local produce, Its a great location, easy walking distance to the town centre which has amazing café's and restaurants, many wineries are within walking distance, Children are welcome, there is a playground across the road, It is a home from home, I cannot recommend it enough and cannot wait to go back.

This was the only motel in Martinborough we could find online and it is one to avoid.
Our studio was small and shabby,a double bed,a large noisy fridge and a tiny table with a couple of chairs. The wardrobe was a few wire hangers on hooks and the 12" portable TV on a high shelf above the fridge could only be viewed by lying on the bed, not that we had much choice of viewing as we only had one chanel. This place was a blast from the past.
Martinborough itself is a place to avoid on a wet February afternoon as most of it was shut.
Obviously the only time it is busy is at weekends when the rich Wellingtonians visit the vineyards.
