Well worth a visit; the commentary was interesting and any questions were answered from the grower's knowledge. There were many infused varieties and it became difficult to make purchase choices! Olivo shows passion for their art, well done.

I booked a "From Tree to Table" tour through the Olivo Website. We wandered around the olive grove and was able to get really close to all the trees. Helen talked to us about their products and walked us through all the varieties of olives they grow.

The property is beautiful, and we were able to taste their full range of products. Was fun to learn how to taste them properly :-)

It is really close to Martinborough and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. We walked away with a bottle of their Porcini infused oil which we have used a few times in the last 2 days now! Definitely an excellent way to spend a few hours between wine tasting at the nearby wineries.

Probably not walking distance, but grab some bikes and you'll be fine!

We saw the sign for olive oil from the downtown Martinborough. My husband immediately followed the signs. He loves olive oil, bread and wine. When you see the sign for Olivo, you turn into an estate with beautiful olive groves surrounding the drive. They have beautiful grounds with some art sculptures. There is a small tasting shed and it smells very fragrant inside once you enter. They make the most amazing lemongrass olive oil soaps. I wish I had purchased more soap because I loved it and they make great gifts.
The owner teaches you about olives, olive trees and how extra virgin olive oil is made and the regulations for the extra virgin olive oil. We both found this very interesting. The owner is very passionate about olive oil and as he talks about it you can't wait to try it. He has many creative infused olive oils and these were our favorites. This was one of the highlights of wine touring throughout New Zealand. So go to Olivo and buy some infused olive oil and soap. It was so nice to have this to take home to the US.
