“Don't stay until the renovations are complete”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2012 via mobile

I had been warned about renovation noise at this hotel, but I made sure I asked for a quiet room away from work being done. On arrival I was given a sunny room overlooking the pool - lovely! And a letter stating that renovations were being done between 9.00 and 4.30 each day.
Sadly the pool is surrounded by cyclone fencing and has broken bits of fake rock waiting for repair with witches hats covering them dotted around the edge of the pool.
At 7am the workers started work in the room above me. So noisy! I asked why they had put me in a room which was going to be noise affected. They moved me to a higher floor but gave me a room towards the back of the hotel which received no direct sun. So disappointing. The second room was already renovated - the bed has been situated so all that can be seen is the suburb behind the beach and the tv screen is where you would have to sit to see the ocean. Badly designed! Felt really sad that what could have been a great experience was so let down by disinterested staff and the noise issues.

Arrived in September 2012 during the renovation period. I had a renovated room on 19th floor which was fine but nothing extraordinary except for the lack of internet in the entire hotel with the exception of wireless in the lobby area. I think the hotel is heading in the right direction vis a vis their aspirations but they have a fair way to go yet. Front desk staff were awesome....extremely helpful and pleasant. Breakfast buffet is probably the best I have encountered anywhere. Considering that I work out of my hotel room when I'm on the road, I won't be staying here again until they have proper internet service in all rooms. On the plus side, there are plenty of places nearby to grab a beer or a meal / snack and the beach is readily accessible.

There is nothing nice to say about this hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are dirty, old and the service is non existent. Wifi doesn't exist in the rooms here and if you have a slim laptop without a dongle you won't be able to access the net. The price is atrocious and is without reason. Probably the worst hotel for the price that you could ever imagine. If it was rated at two stars.. it might be ok

I have stayed here many times as it has a lower price than inner Perth.
The room's have been a bit outdated however the refurbishment is underway.
I stayed in a refurbished room. The biggest change is the bathrooms. very modern.
close to the beach, good views and a good gym and pool.
As long s the prices stay reasonable I will be back.

This hotel is in such a great location right on the beach but several factors let them down
Negatives first
- Fire alarm whilst we were there asking us to evacuate which I did but at the bottom of staircase which leads to the car park there weren't any staff telling you where to go so I walked back around the front of the hotel to the main entrance and the concierge and reception staff had no answers on what was going on at they were going about there day as normal. Guests were just walking back into the foyer and catching the lift back to their rooms. This was at 8am and we never heard what the reason for the evacuation was.
Room service staff on the phones are quite rude and I was told off for asking if a dessert from the restaurant was available from room service - "Well is it on our room service menu?"
- Nice view but the balcony doors are padlocked
- Remote for TV didnt work and had to be replaced
- Air Con didnt work
- nice deep bath but mould all around the silicone

Positives
- Lots of options for mains and snacks for room service menu
- great bar area
- Bed comfortable
- Large rooms

I wouldnt choose to stay there again

Indeed this was a masterpiece of hotel, the design and the architectural looks were as amazing as The dead sea, the rooms were so great, No difference between home and this hotel, only what i missed from my home was noise which i could not notice here, the sound of silence could be heard, the beach view was so delighting, you could catch a glance of waves at the water side. there existed the high speed broadband in every room and it was faster than light. Indeed, the hotel exceeded my expectation. 30 minute drive from the Perth Airport, no worries can tamper with your mind if you are in this hotel. what is more amazing, just spend three days, u will get free breakfast.

Room Tip: Deluxe Beach Front Room

I have to agree with other reviewers to not stay here until it has been completely renovated. I had the misfortune to stay in an older room and while it was clean it was very basic and not worth the $290 a night I paid for it. The renovations were not advertised on booking and were very noisy during the day. The car park is dark, dingy and felt unsafe for a single female traveller. The pool and tennis court were closed as well so there were no amenities to speak of. If this was a regional motel (with applicable prices), this hotel would be ok but it is not acceptable in a major capital city. I will not stay here again.
