We went as a group of four on a sunny summer's day and had a great time in the relaxed but stylish dining section of the Beach Club. The food was really tasty, uncomplicated but well prepared and the serving staff were terrific, friendly and professional. Good wine list and we really enjoyed the iced champagne with fruit given the hot weather. Only two disappointments resulting from bad management practices (which even the staff don't understand and were apologetic about!).
1. we spent $400 on lunch but we couldn't order a coffee at our table to finish off the meal.... we were told we would have to move into the old hotel section if we wanted coffee so of course we didn't bother. Annoying for us and lost income for them.
2. we wanted to split the bill in half on two credit cards but because one of them was an Amex card we were told this was too hard! Really? Apparently because of the 3% Amex surcharge! So we offered to add 10% to the bill to cover the surcharge and a tip but our generosity was rejected! So we paid with two visa cards and they didn't get the surcharge or the tip! Again, annoying for us and lost income for them.
We will return and hopefully they will sort out their management policies!
