“lovely location; questionable service in restaurant”
Reviewed April 11, 2012

The food here is good. What a pity about the staff being so untrained and lacking in professionalism. My friend queried whether the Barramundi was from the sea or if it was river caught. He received an I don't know, a shrug, with a but I suppose I could check, followed by a does it matter ? from the waitress, Well, would he have asked if it didn't matter?! An appalling response and a patent indication of lack of training.

For such a beautiful venue it is a shame that the standard of service in so bad in this restaurant. It is not the staff's fault entirely there are just too few of them.
On more than one occasion, I have been with a group twice and with my partner once, I have had to wait 40 mins for my food. This is not just a walk in we booked in advance.
The kitchen are servicing both the bar and the restaurant and clearly they do not put on enough staff.
On my last visit we waited 15 mins before the order was taken, two ladies had to leave early and they barely had time to eat their meal it came out so late. Then at least two meals sat on the counter for 10 mins whilst they sorted the rest of the order. We were over charged for both drinks and one of the meals which added up to around $20. When it was pointed out there was no heartfelt apology just a shrug and a refund. We were also told that 40mins wait time was normal for a busy restaurant.

Well I for one am sick of this shabby service in WA and despite the food being ok I will not go back .It's about time we locals rejected this attitudes and god knows what tourist think.

Travelers are raving about these Cottesloe hotels

Just returned from a trip away. Stopped at the collesloe hotel for 16 nights.
Good points:

Location- right next to the beach,, nice comfy bed and the best power shower ever!

Bad points:

No Internet. 180 a night and no wireless.
Expensive, 12 dollars a pint
Room get cleans every day to a poor standard, carpet was never vacuumed.
Bar manger would close the bar early if not many people in the bar. Closed it at 2200 on a fri. We were 3 guests paying a total of 540 and couldn't even sit in the bar! Bar manager lazy.
It's not like a hotel, more like a bar with a few rooms upstairs.
Would not book again.

This hotel is the perfect beach retreat within easy reach of Perth. Plenty of great restaurants nearby. Stayed here for 4 nights in January 2012 and loved every minute. The reviews on here that are critical re: noise, especially on a Sunday, are an exaggeration of a nice chilled bar that has a busy night on a Sunday. It closes by 10pm and that is after a long wind down. Overall a great place to stay. Highly recommend it. My only slight criticism would be a lack of storage space for clothes in the rooms and perhaps that the bar and restaurant close down a bit too early (although this appeared the norm in Cottesloe)

We stayed with another couple between Christmas and New Years of 2011. The rooms had obviously been recently refurbished - we could faintly smell fresh paint! Modern looking room, great bed, big balcony overlooking the beach (with two chairs and two lounge chairs) with a substantial sized tv on the wall opposite the bed. The bathroom was all white tiles, stainless streel fixtures with an amazing rainfall showerhead. Staff were helpful, and despite being there during probably their busiest night of the year, we had no isses with noise and had a peaceful sleep. I highly recommend - the location is great and the food downstairs is good (albeit expensive, but that's WA for you!). The room was a nice little oasis from the 40degree heat outside.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the beach have a balconey, room number 1 the biggest too I believe.

We spent 4 nights here in October. Rooms are large and serviceable if somewhat drab. Make sure you do not stay there on a Sunday night if you can help it - the next door backpackers goes wild that night and the noise till 10pm is incredible. Then all sound ceases and it is perfectly still. Located right across the road from the beach, the road is noisy. But staff were really helpful, and parking is free. It is a reasonable place if you want to be near the beach and don't want to pay a fortune.

Room Tip: Don't go for one of the front rooms if you are a light sleeper - the noise from cars will keep y...

The room was small but obviously recently refurbished. Clean and modern rooms, the hotel has good facilities with a number of bars and restaurants. Beach side rooms have a balcony that is Lovely to sit at and watch the sun go down. No mini bar which is pity.
