We stayed a night in one of the up, market Stable suites. Both of us were overwhelmed by the dust of the antiques and curtains, so much so I couldn’t stop sneezing and my wife’s eyes were red from the irritation. The service was excellent and the rooms well appointed but the upkeep seems to have let them down. A must is the candlelit turndown. I won’t ruin it for you , just do it.
Would we stay again yes but the breakfast was cold and the staff rude. Our coffees sat on a bench for over 5 minutes getting cold, it was only after we went up and inquired that they responded and rudely banged them down on our table. There is just no excuses for that.

Thank you very much for your constructive criticism. I do apologise that your stay with us was not up to the standard I expect for my guests.

I believe the problem regarding the dust was due to the open fire. During the winter months the Stable Suites are the most popular and unfortunately the fireplaces do sometimes smoke and cause dust in the room. My housekeeping staff are usually extremely conscious of this problem and take extra care. I am not sure what happened on this occasion but I can assure you it will not happen again.
Hopefully we can welcome you back to the property in the future and your stay will be perfect!

My wife and I stayed here on 25th April as part of a trip to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I couldn't think of a nicer place to stay! We were lucky enough to have the Yeringberg room which was simply beautiful. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The dinner we had in the restaurant was of the highest quality - I could have that suckling pig every night and not get sick of it!
The location - fantastic
The room - breathtaking
The food - world class
The staff - brilliant
What more could you ask for......

We had driven past this place for years, without knowing to much about what was behind the trees ...Then recently a friend told us about it, so we popped in and had a look...Wow....So we booked an overnight package and dinner... Not cheap but unbelievably first class in every way. The ambience says it all, add to that the professionalism of staff at all levels, from reception to to the food and wine waiter at dinner it was a night to remenber...Food was excellent as was selection of wine....We'll be back.

This was our second stay at Chateau Yering, and, while there was a business element this time, the stay was nearly every bit as exceptionally good. The weather could have been warmer, but at least it didn't rain. While waiting in the sitting room, enjoying the crackling log fire in the fireplace, I learned that it was the first time they'd lit the fire this year. It was really welcoming.

A suggestion might be to visit a little earlier in the year, during the grape harvest would be good, as the number of wineries within a short drive is large. There are good restaurants, too, starting with the Chateau's own Eleanore's where we ate again one evening.

I like the place - as our visit was during the week, outside the tourist season, and the day before a public holiday, the restaurant was not as busy and buzzy as it was last time we visited a few years ago. The food is still really good, and the service the same.

Looking forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: The Rowan suite overlooks a fine grassed area with magnificent trees.

Aesthetically the hotel is an odd mixture. From the outside it looks like a colonial farmhouse. Inside it looks like an English stately home. It is not a cheap place to stay but the quality of the accommodation is of a very high standard.
Our only criticism was that there were clearly insufficient staff in the restaurant so the service was too slow. Apart from this the quality was excellent.

Room Tip: The rooms farthest from the reception have better views than those near to it.

My wife and I stayed here over Easter weekend, a real treat! Eleonore restaurant was fabulous, From the awesome staff to the incredible cheese trolley, definitely recommend and we are self confessed foodies. Our room was huge, very cosily furnished with the little welcoming touches you would expect from a five star property. We used to spend our long weekends away at daylesford but this little venue may be our new hotspot. Add in debortoli restaurant and innocent bystander at healesville which we crammed into our weekend, and you have the recipe for a great short break! One bit of criticism I would offer is that the breakfast let the Chateau down, surely some quality local muesli and yogurt would serve better than supermarket brands, as well as local jams and honey over the little single serve generic condiments. Tip: Go with the sommeliers tip on Victorian wines and you may find yourself nicely surprised...

We enjoyed a lovely High Tea in Eleonore's restaurant.. the food was delicious, the surroundings elegant and calm and the staff were friendly and obliging. Altogether a very enjoyable afternoon. The Yarra Valley is beautiful and there are many attractions and fanastic wineries to visit nearby.
