The horseback riding is a must-do if you are travelling or thinking about travelling to this area. The people are friendly and the horse riding is so much fun and relaxing. Very worthwhile whether you're visiting solo, with friends, your partner or family :)

The scenery around Mount Beauty is gorgeous. that's the first thing that strikes you. all the trees are changing colour in May and the views are just breathtaking. As you travel up the long snaking driveway of Bogong Horseback adventures you get the feeling immediately that you are in a place of horse-lovers. The field to the right is full of horses of all shapes and colours and smoke billows from the chimney at the home the Bard family built from the ground up.
Kath and Steve and their sons Clay and Lin greet you warmly at the front door, offer you a gourmet coffee and if you're lucky one of their organic cooking creations, then get you up to the stables where Daisy took over. Whether you're a seasoned rider or a novice she has an amazing knack at making every rider feel at ease. I had some horse experience from when I was a kid and hadn't ridden for a good few years so was a little bit nervous to get back in the saddle. We went out on a trail with a complete novice and an incredibly experienced rider. we had an AMAZING time! after Daisy showed us the way a horse responds to natural horsemanship we saddled up and rode through the stunning countryside. Even the novice who had never trotted or cantered before was confident enough to do both by halfway through the half day ride with daisy's coaching. The horses are incredibly receptive (you dont need to give them a massive kick to get em going) and whether you are a family with kids and you want a leisurely walk or you have been riding all your life and want to let loose you will have an amazing amazing time. Even though the rain came pouring down (you get the option of borrowing an oilskin coat- take it! i didnt and regretted it later!) we still had a stunning, fun ride. I cannot wait for the summer. I'll be back to do the pack horse expeditions! they go for 5 days, camp under the stars in the bush and get back to nature and, by December, Daisy was saying that they will have an option to stay on their farm so no late night drives back into town. If you do one thing in the area, do this..

We had a great ride here, with just a couple of drawbacks mainly not in their control. One of the guide girls felt ill after we started, and the wait to get her company for the trip back resulted in our missing the main part of the 3 hour ride up into the hills. Since there were controlled burns about to begin, we were forced to retrace our steps a couple of times and take a very steep hill in order to fill the time. It wouldn't have been a big issue, but we were visiting from the U.S. and had gone well out of our way to include this ride in our itinerary. On the other hand, the horses were really great, not just your head-to-tail ride. We cantered a few times, and the crew was so knowledgeable I learned some things even though I am a seasoned rider. I highly recommend this place.

My partner and I went an a full day tour. Me as an experienced rider and for my partner the first time being an a horse. After an introduction by Clay (what he can do with horses is amazing) we started our full day tour. Never been on such fabulous horses. We felt so save and relaxed. We cantered so many times which was a great experience. Especially for my partner that never sad on a horse before. The staff Daisy, Clay and Lin were incredible and made day. And the food was delicious!!

We had the pleasure of spending our last evening of the Easter long weekend 2012 riding under the stars with the guys from Bogong Horseback Adventures, it was a wonderful way to finish the weekend.

Cath and the team have a great attitude towards both the horses and the guests and for us they have set the bar from which we will be comparing any other similar experiences.

we are looking forward to returning in summer to take part in one of the extended camping trail rides. The countryside in the region is simply beautiful
Thank you so much guys
