Really enjoyed the Du Jour menu for our dinner. Didn't think we needed the longer form. Nothing disappointed us at all.

Will come back here when next in the area, but book ahead to ensure easier access.

Good local wines matched the courses. Staff knew their product and the head chef met with diners, as did some others accompanying courses to the table.

Fine dining at it's absolute best. You can be excused for having high expectations when it comes to paying good money on fine dining these days. Unfortunately there is a long list of those which fail and very few that meet or exceed expectations.

With Hentley Farm - let me just say "Oh - my - God"!! You have to come here whilst the waiting list is still small enough; because once the word gets out about this place, you will be hard pressed to find a seat. This restaurant and this Chef will not only meet your expectations - it will quite simply blow them out of the water.

Remember the name "Lachlan Colwill" because in the same vein as Ferran Adrià or Heston Blumenthal, this man will be a super star if he keeps cooking the way he does here. Very rarely in life, do all things align perfectly to create something truly special, but this is precisely what has happened here. A young Chef and a new beautifully created venue combine to create something absolutely extraordinary. Lachlan has quite obviously taken this opportunity with both hands and personally presents food which leaves you emotionally dumbfounded and amazed. The restaurant itself is a beautifully created space where you immediately feel welcome.

It's hard to know where to start with this. We had the "Discovery" menu, which is the larger of the two options available to diners. You do not know what you will be served as the menu is constantly adjusted to suit the season, the ingredients and more importantly the wines produced at Hentley. Make sure you take the dinner with wine because the food is created especially to compliment and address the flavours of the wine. There is a tremendous amount of thought that has gone into each course to ensure every aspect is an experience.

There will be many superlatives written about this restaurant and the staff that run it, but let me simply say "Thank You! - What an utter privilege it has been to dine here and experience your food." This will remain a memory I will truly cherish and was the absolute highlight of our trip to South Australia. We shall definitely visit Hentley Farm again because of it!

I took my husband to Hentley Farm for a surprise birthday gift (on the advice of friends) and were more than pleasantly surprised.
We opted for the 4 course menu and were not disappointed in the slightest. My husband had several special dietary requirements which I had pre-advised and the communication from the Restaurant to myself for every detail was customer service at its best!
Once at the restaurant the service continued and the food was just amazing, worth every dollar. At various times the chefs presented themselves to explain different components of the menu. When we wondered how a particular menu item had been prepared, the chef arrived at our table and explained the method as well as giving a demonstration. How many restaurants of high caliber would take the time to do that?
We were so impressed and can't recommend this restaurant enough for that special occasion.

We dined the previous night on the deg at Appellation and we thought it was good...until Lachlan Colwill's inspired, clever and playful food offerings made our meal at Appellation look like we dined at McDonalds.

The food here is quite simply - off the chart amazing!

We had the Discovery deg with the wine flight and our eight course deg evolved to 14 with the chef including three amuse bouches and two pre-dessert offerings. The wines from Hentley were superb as was the attentive, knowledgable and super friendly German waiter.

We have dined all over the world, however, I never expected to have the best meal ever in an off the beaten track restaurant in the heart of the beautiful Barossa Valley.

We cannot wait to return.

Unbelievable.

Ten out of five :-)))

We have had the degustation menu at The Louise previously and that was fine without being particularly memorable and I wondered whether this newest Barossa offering would be similar, it was much better!
The winery and cellar door have been done up fairly recently, renovating the old buildings and keeping their character. The restaurant is a very warm and welcoming space, the staff were faultless and even organised a tour of the kitchen at the end of the day, and the food and wine matched perfectly . My only concern would be if you have driven there for lunch, you may be tempted to overindulge and not be able to drive home. The last lunch of this quality I had in the Barossa was at the Pheasant Farm in its heyday
