Description: Glass walls at the front of the outdoor area and large windows opening to the sea air capture the light and view for all diners in all weather with new modern alfresco furniture. The Penneshaw Hotel – also known as the “Penny”- has both inside and alfresco dining areas giving the hotel a relaxed casual feel. However, there's nothing casual about the excellent presentation and consistency of the food. With a superb wine list, some of the best pub food SA has to offer and competitive function options the Penny is a perfect crowd pleaser.

There is more fish in a "fish finger" than what I got on my plate, which was 1/2 covered with chips and very little salad. The fruit as part of the dessert was out of a tin with plenty of syrup. Did not get value for money. The staff were unfriendly and the place was not crowded, so they were not rushed off their feet. My friends were not impressed with their meal either. The view from our table was fabulous. It was the complete opposite to our experience at the Parndana Hotel - friendly staff and they had hot vegetables and salad bar available, which added to the value of the meal.

I had Barramundi with pear and walnut salad and it was lovely however my two companions were not happy with their meals - tasteless and boring. We did have the tasting platter as an entree and enjoyed it. The view was terrific. Altogether a great visit for me but not so much for my companions.

Quick service, with good variety on menu. Big crowd in for dinner and stretched waiters. Helpful suggestions at bar. Food was good too.

We had a day here on our cruise ship and stopped for a light lunch before reboarding.

The most divine fresh oysters for a very reasonable price.

Had a guy on a guitar, made for great background music.

Fantastic views.

Spent a couple of hours here, it was just lovely.

While waiting for the ferry to take us from KI back to Cape Jervis (mainland) we had lunch at the Penneshaw Hotel. The weather was fantastic and we had fish & Chips (shark) the surroundings were fantastic with views over the bay from our table, band playing in the background and as luck would have a cruise ship was in the harbor (going around australia). We met a lovely lady from Long Island New York who did not quite get the deal with the flys around but soon sorted her out with the "Aeroguard & sunscreen lotion" Another couple with us had a curry which was very good also. The pub caters for all tastes and the layout with its artworks (local artists) was very good
