We stayed for 5 days camping with 2 small kids. We had the best experience. Kids had plenty to do everyday. Feeding the animals, milking the cows, wagon ride, boomerang throwing, cracking a whip, butter making, damper and billy tea, horse riding. We went 4wd one day. Used the restaurant for some meals which was great. Highly reccommend for families. Good old fashioned hospitality.

Just back from our second visit to Bestbrook with friends and again can say we were not disappointed. This is a good clean family camping experience and a great time was had by the whole family. An excellent camping experience for the kids and adults alike.

We spent a week on the farm, days were spent:
- feeding the farm animals and milking the cows,
- a wagon ride around the property which involved learning how to throw a boomerang, how to crack a whip, how to make damper over the fire and concluded with billy tea;
- horse riding lessons and subsequent trail ride;
- 4WD/ trail bike riding
- kids riding their bikes
- chopping and gathering firewood (there was lots of it)
- afternoons in the pool or drinks and nibbles around the creek.

Nights were spent
- having a drink at the homestead
- siting around the campfire
- roasting marshmallows

The property is by no means 5 star in accomodation or facilities, but it is not meant to be, it is not a hotel - It is a farm. It is a bush experience. You are surrounded by dogs, horses, ponys, cows and animals in general. But that is all part of the camping / farm experience and that is why we were there.

We had a powered site so were able to bring some luxuries such as a kettle and fridge. There are port a loos which are the cleanest port a loos I have ever seen. There are also basic shower/toilet blocks for those who want to shower. All were cleaned daily. There is also a good sized pool. Fresh water readily available. The homestead does meals and sells basics such as bread, milk, eggs, ice creams and ice for esky's. Warwick is about 30mins drive away if you need a mid week grocery shop.

Very friendly and helpful owners / employees.

All in all, we loved it and will definately go back. Highly recommend to those who love to camp and get outdoors, with the added convenience of basic but clean ammenities.

Room Tip: Accomodation is camping or cabins.

There was lots to like about this place - nice grounds, sprawling reception area crowded with old farm implements and knickknacks, some excitingly dangerous play equipment for the little ones, a farm dog that instantly befriends any child. Sadly however on closer inspection everything was disappointing - the accommodation was old, unclean and overdue for a tidy up; every available piece of dirt was covered with a cow pat; and even the dog appeared to need a vet visit. Overall the accommodation was (just) acceptable but way overpriced at $300 a night for a cabin.

Hi Test P,
Sorry for the delay in responding to your review but we are new to Trip Advisor and still learning our way. We appreciate your time in submitting the review and would like to make the following comments.
We have 9 cabins, bunkhouse accommodation and camping grounds that generally cater for families wanting a farm stay experience. As a working farm that offers free animal feeding to our guest, our cows and horses freely roam the property and yes unfortunately the do make a mess but it is a farm, we do regularly spread the cow pats as much as possible weather permitting and we apologise if this was a bad experience for you and your family.
We have had our housekeepers and maintenance staff pay closer attention to their respective task.
Our cabins are $290 per night for a fully self contained 3 bedroom cabin but that includes up to 6 guests at no extra charge, that’s only $48 per person per night.
We do not attempt to compare ourselves with 4 star + resorts we are a family based farm stay with the majority of our clients returning frequently.
All our animals at Bestbrook are very well looked after and visit the vet as required and there is no issue we are aware of.
We hope you can return sometime with your family. Thanks Bestbrook Management
