We stayed for several nights at Eaglereach and enjoyed every moment of it.It combined good amenities and food with wilderness and peacefulness. It provided us with a welcome break from the sterileness of the city. The best of both worlds!

The location is breath taking and the food is delicious. The lodge we stayed in, however is a different story. The place was grimy and covered in dust, mice droppings everywhere, including on kitchen surfaces and we had 1 towel each for 3 days with no housekeeping or laundry service offered. I booked as a suprise romantic getaway and was dissapointed. No romance about the lodge whatsoever.
The saving grace was the restaraunt and the food, which was delicious and the staff were very good.

Thank you for the positive comments regarding the resort and especially the restaurant. We apologise that the lodge was not up to your expectations however all you had to do was let us know at Reception and we would have had Housekeeping attend to your concerns immediately or relocated you to another lodge. I assume you actually stayed two nights and the allocation of towels should have been 3 large towels two hand towels two face cloths and one bath mat again if additional towels were required just ask. Remember we are an ecotourism resort in the driest continent in the world and rely 100% on rainwater and all laundry is cleaned in Sydney. Please contact us adamlikesbeer so we can offer reasonable compensation for a return visit.

Have just returned from a 3 week trip touring in OZ to celebrate my birthday. This really was one of the highlights and sticks in my mind because it was so unexpected. I would say anyone driving here from Sydney make sure you get a map so you do not get lost wandering around Hunter Valley region trying to find it. We wasted a few hours getting there which could have been much better spent just enjoying the place. The lodge was huge and the lounge had a lovely wood burner which made it very cosy given the weather was a bit cold. The views from are fantastic and the food at the restaurant is excellent. However the bit we all enjoyed most was spending tme on the deck feeding the kangaroos and birds. Wished we could have stayed a couple more days.

I had just two nights to enjoy this fabulous resort, and it is every bit as good as I remembered from a stay with friends three years ago. I chose to stay in a cabin, as I wanted to refresh & renew before heading back to my busy life. I was given Wanji II, which is delightful, warm & private, & would be ideal for a romantic getaway. This cabin comes with it's own private swimming pool & hot tub on the deck, overlooking the beautiful valley towards Maitland. The staff are very warm & welcoming, & the facilities are everything you could want. I drove into Morpeth for a wander around & a coffee, & it was only a twenty minute drive. I hope to get back to this resort again soon.

We only stayed at Eaglereach for two nights - that was a short stay but if we'd stayed much longer we never would've been able to get used to the hectic city life ever again.
A few cabins scattered over 100 acres of Australian bush spread out over the hills of Hunter Valley make for a wonderfully peaceful getaway. The cabins -though not luxurious- are fitted with all possible amenities to be on your own with just the birds, the kangaroos, the view and your private jacuzzi for days. Just go out once a day for the Ozzie breaky from cook Gunter at the restaurant. He and his staff will make you feel right at home.

Amazing experience 3 hours drive from Sydney, these mountain lodges are secluded and private. We spent an intimate weekend with kangaroos, birds and other wildlife at our doorstep. Wonderful views of the countryside driving up from Hunter Valley. Beautiful starry skies at night. Our kid had a fantastic time.

We would recommend it both for romance and family, and will definitely stay there again!

Eaglereach Wilderness resort is amazing. We booked last minute as a quick weekend get away and we very surprised. We had a two bedroom loft cabin. It is always very cold this time of the year but the open fire heats the place up very fast. No-one for what feels like miles... the air is clean and fresh an amazing escape from the hussel and bussel of the big cities. We hired a buggy to play around in which was so much fun, just note don't try and take them off road other wise the alarm goes off! LOL. The spa down the road was amazing. The food was average but the great service and friendly staff made up for it. Have always talked about going back and will be back soon.
