This is a fabulous resort and I would definitely consider staying here again. Very private and beautifully secluded lodges with great space and facilities. Resort facilities are excellent too. Perfect for a break where you want to 'get back to nature' and relax away from the hustle bustle of the city. Picture perfect views across the Hunter Valley and wallabies at your bedroom window every morning! The only slight negative is that the resort is located at the top of a 10 minute 'off road' track and about half an hour from the nearest town. Although, this could be a plus for some people! For us, it was a bit 'scary' travelling back to the lodge at night. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home with a champagne reception. I would definitely recommend staying here.

My husband and I stayed at Eaglereach over Christmas and it was just amazing. We stayed in a lodge called Wanji 2 which had a fabulous 4 poster bed, hot tub and it's own swimming pool just outside the lounge on it's deck which was completely private. All the staff were lovely and even gave us a free glass of bubbly while they checked us in. We also thought that all the sports gear being complimentary was great and had a ball in the kayaka's on the lake. We took heaps of photo's of the wild life and even made friends with some of the Wallaby's, next time we believe that there will be Koala's in the eucalyptus forest that the resort has planted. The road up to the top of the mountain is windy and the closest shops are down in the local village about 20 minutes away. However Steve and Gunter in the restaurant are great and takeaway is an option. We will be going back and spending a bit more time so we can do all the walks

Having just discovered the tripadvisor website, I have been reading the reviews of Eaglereach with great interest and was delighted so many other people have discovered this "gem" for a peaceful holiday. I am a regular at Eaglereach and, in fact, was one of their first guests after the opening quite a few years ago! I re-visit often, especially when there is a significant milestone to celebrate - such as the opening the the superb restaurant! I always enjoy my times at Eaglereach -- often deciding to "drop out" to just read and relax; but on other visits I join in the many activities. It is the only holiay destination that I keep returning to, time after time.

My husband and I were very lucky to stay in the Gallery - one of the Spa Lodges. Upon arrival we were not quite sure, as we had arrived at 11pm and it was very dark. The staff were kind enough to leave our kit outside of reception and a map to our lodge. When we woke the next day - WOW!! What an absolutely spectacular view.
Our lodge could have easily slept 6 people, with an extremely large loungeroom, kitchen, and the outside patio area had dining table and chairs, as well as a separate area to sit and of course the spa - in which we spent quite a while in, while admiring our view.

The restaurant was nice - well sufficient breakfast, which we ate, while overlooking the kangaroos in their feeding area below us. We also had a really nice dinner there that night as well. It is rumoured that the chef had been a recent one of Richard Branson - I would believe this, as the food was beautiful!!

We visited the local Olive farm - which was not far from the resort, and also drove into the Lovedale area to visit some wineries. They were only roughly 45mins away, which is not far at all really, and driving through the little country towns in beautiful!!

I would say that the drive from Sydney is definately well worth it. I would like to say a very big thank you for allowing us to stay at your resort, it was definatley what my husband and I needed - a bit of peace and tranquility. From dealing with reservations and making a booking to checking out - it couldn't be better. I would definatley recommend this resort to people looking for some time out from the rat race.

We would be looking at coming back in the near future :)

The rooms are fantastic, very clean and comfortable. The only complaint about the room, was we were unable to have the open fire due to council regulations, which I know the resort has no control over. Just disappointing, especially when it rained for the 4 days and was cold.

The restaurant is amazing, the food and service is A+++++ could not complain about anything. I agree with their award for best restaurant in a resort 2008. Only disappointing thing, was we booked the restaurant on the Saturday night as there was supposed to be live music entertainment. But there was nothing, even though on the night it was still advertised.

The facilities were not up to scratch at all. The volley ball court had no net and was covered in sticks etc and looks as though it has not been maintained in quite a while. The pool was covered in black spot and the water was below the filter line, however, it was too cold and wet to use anyway. If we took the kids, I would have complained. As to the table tennis table, the table was caked in dirt. Basketball court contained, one basketball ring. The tennis court looked fine, again we didn't attempt to use due to weather.

The nature and environment was great, we relaxed sooo much. The private spa was great. Only recommendation is perhaps they could have outdoor gas heaters on the balcony.

The dayspa was very relaxing, no complaints.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but as far as "resort" goes, we were a little disappointed.

Thank you for all the positive remarks you have made about our resort. Yes the weather was a factor at that time with the dry spell causing the trees to shed leaves everywhere especially in the pool and central resort facilities then the welcome rain. As the restaurant manager mentioned on the night the background musician came down with a virus and no replacemtn could be found in the bush at short notice. The tarif includes the spa lodge hot breakfast plus FREE sparkling white wine welcome all sporting equipment from mountain bikes to kayaks guided rain forest walk internet kiosk and DVD library we believe this delivers good vale .

We stayed at the largest house of the resort called Breakaway. The place was beautiful with nice views, clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The suggestions I have to the resort owners is that the house should have a dishwashing machine (you don’t want to spend your holidays doing the dishes) and the fridge was too small for a house (fits 10 person) that size. The resort was great, perfect views, nice bushwalks and plenty of other interesting activities. We stayed 5 nights and did not have enough time to do all that was available. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast at the restaurant great and in general the facilities well presented. The only comment I have about the activities is that the resort should spend a little bit more money in inexpensive items such as tennis balls (most of them damaged), more badminton racquets (only 3, no change to play doubles) and the bikes too heavy to ride on steep slopes like the resort. I would highly recommend the place for families with children above 6 years of age that enjoy outdoor activities. As a tip take all your groceries with you as the closest town is approx 30 minutes away.

Nestled upon 1000 acres, way up on the mountains, lies the Eaglereach Wilderness Resort which is the perfect spot for a relaxing weekend. I have just returned from a weekend away at Eaglereach and don't normally write hotel reviews but this resort is definately worth writing about.

After driving up the mountain with its winding road, we arrived at Eaglereach Resort, which, from Sydney ,CBD was a 3 hour drive.

The staff welcomed us with a glass of wine and showed us a map of the resort, explaining the various spots of interest across the 1000 acre property.

We booked a One Bedroom Spa Cabin through HotelClub.com and the cabin that was allocated to us was called 'The Gallery'. It was the last cabin on the property, in a secluded spot - so secluded in fact, that you could walk around in your birthday suit and no one would even know (except for the kangaroos that liked to hang around outside).

The cabin itself was surprisingly large and had its own outdoor jacuzzi, bbq area and fire place. As well as this, we had a fully equipped kitchen, a huge lounge area with flat screen tv, a chess set, some board games and a cd player with all sorts of music.

There was upstairs are with a snooker room, a second bathroom and huge bedroom with 2 double beds (technically this cabin was a two bedroom cabin and with the 3 double beds could comfortable sleep 6 people).

The resort itself has its own restaurant, bushwalking trail which has amazing views from every angle, a catch and release fishing area, yabby fishing area, tennis court and kayacking dam.

I would recommend this property for a couple wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life, a group of co-workers for a team building event, a group of friends wanting good value accommodation and families wanting to take the children somewhere that little bit different.

The kangaroo feeding and all other actiivies make this place somewhere that truly EVERYONE would enjoy - no matter who are - even this city chick digged it! ;)
