Chicken fried steak was good; the upgrade to onion rings was $.49 for me vice the $.29 listed in some of the other reviews. Decent, but not gourmet, salad bar. Buffet style side dishes were nothing to rave about; corn bread was above average, the green beans seemed to have just been heated up out of a #10 can. The menu highlights the Midwest origin of the beef they serve, which seemed odd considering the number of cattle raised in the area. A good value to keep your ribs from rubbing together, particularly on a Monday or Tuesday in this area. Beats fast food, but I wouldn't make it a habit.

We enjoy good southern cooking. At this place, you select your entrée from a menu then eat all you want from salad and vegetable bar (or you can have just the bars without an entrée). They have the very best peach cobbler I have even eaten. It is a chain with 15 locations throughout Virginia. We had eaten at Country Cookin several years ago and were delighted they were still in business during this trip. But why wouldn't they be - they have great food!!

We stayed in Orange while visiting my daughter in Louisa, VA. The restaurant was recommended
by friends in Louisa, VA. We enjoyed a good dinner on a Thursday. I made a meal out of the very large sides/ salad/ soup and dessert bar. My husband said:"His rib-eye steak was very good".
The service was very good. Since it was our first visit at the restaurant, the waitress told us that if you get a steak on Thursday night, that you get two free fried pickles with the dinner.

Your usual frozen food buffet. It'll do when you just want to stuff your gut. The staff are friendly and the food is hot.
