This is our fourth or so stay at this hotel over the years. Every visit has been wonderful. We stayed a Sunday night at the start of August 2014 on our way back from vacation. Front desk folks are friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and smelled fresh. The breakfast was what other hotels claim their breakfasts offer; except, everything was delicious and fresh. That is, the coffee was actually good, the pancakes looked wonderful, there was turkey sausage and "real" sausage and both were fresh and hot and actually tasted like sausage. The biscuit was fresh, hot and fluffy --not lifeless and tasteless as is the case at most "free breakfast" hotels. They had fresh-cooked cinnamon rolls and eggs, fresh fruit and good breads and bagels. In short, breakfast was a 5.0. The mattresses in our room (122) were a bit saggy and the desk chair would not raise to the level needed to work comfortably at the desk. But the mini-fridge worked well and the bathroom had good amenities and the shower was excellent (unlike many places we have recently stayed). And there was a comfy chair in which to sit and read. So, the room was a 4.0. All staff throughout the hotel were friendly and made us feel welcome, so service was a 5.0. In back of the hotel they have put out permanent and nice tables and chairs with umbrellas so one can go out and sit there in comfort while viewing the lovely fields, trees and mountains that are visible. So, hotel ambiance was a 5.0. We paid the senior rate, which actually made it substantially cheaper than the *much* less desirable Culpeper Microtel we stayed in last year on our way back (because the Holiday Inn was booked for a wedding). The Holiday Inn is well located, right off route 15 and within a few minutes of restaurants and a grocery store. So, location is a 5.0 as well.
We definitely will continue to stay here. While the mattress issue prevented me from assigning a 5.0, if that were addressed, this place would definitely get a full 5.0. It sets the standard for what hotels in this class can be if they choose to be, and is the hotel against which I compare every other hotel in this class.

Room Tip: If the weather allows, consider getting takeout at one of the nearby restaurants and coming back to the hotel to sit at one of the tables behind the hotel to enjoy your meal while basking in the lovely mountain view.

I recently spent two nights at the Orange Holiday Inn express and could not be more impressed. The staff was efficient, the room was everything you could ask for, the pool was great and the views were fantastic. The chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon were a nice touch, and the breakfast was unbelievable- Eggs, bacon, pancakes, buscuits and gravy, etc. If I'm ever in the area again, I'm sure I'll stay here.

Room Tip: Beautiful mountain views if you get on the back side of the hotel - even numbered rooms.

We had stayed here before so it was a destination for us. It is a very clean, quite place to stay with all the amenities. Our king room was as large as condos we have stayed it before. They have a great hot breakfast bar to start your day off right. If your room is on the back hallway, you have a great view of the nearby mountains. If not, there is a pool and patio out back to enjoy the scenery.

Room Tip: Rooms on left hallway offer mountain view.

Great views of the countryside from the top of the hill location, especially the outdoor pool. Also located close to town. Friendly staff, although they need more than one person on site during main check-in hours! Nice breakfast and other expected Holiday Inn Express amenities.

We have visited Orange on many times and have always stayed at the Holiday Inn on Round Hill Drive. Dana, the manager, has made this holiday inn one of the best. To date they have 13 torches for excellence.
The rooms are spotless and when we had a problem they took care of it immediately. The staff is wonderful, Liz, Stacy, and Kerri are the best. The beds are good and the views are killer on the back side.
One of our favorite things to do at night was to sit out back on the patio facing the mountains. The sunsets are the highlight of the evening looking across the valley, enjoying the view with a favorite bottle of wine. You can not beat this place!
Also there are 33 wineries in the area plus Montpelier only a few minutes away!

Room Tip: The best rooms are on the back (even numbers) best room is 202, which is a corner room. Book early this place gets sold out quick!
