This hotel is located on top of a small hill outside Orange. The views are quite pleasant and the hotel area very quiet. Outside of that it offered the level of service you would expect from a HIE. It was clean and the breakfast items were hot and fresh. They even made a pretty good sausage biscuits and gravy, a guilty pleasure I chose to indulge. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing a good nights sleep.

Stayed here for last minute work trip. One of the cleanest Holiday Inn Express establishments I've ever been in. 'Would highly recommend. 'Off the beaten path (central-nowhere Virginia) but I'm glad it was there because there aren't many other places in the area. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially when it came to helping me order dinner from local delivery resturant when I arrived late at night..

Of all the Holiday Inn Express hotels I've stayed in over the years, this is one of the best.

The hotel sits atop a knoll and rooms on the back side are treated to a nice view of rolling Virginia pasture land. The setting is very quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful in selecting a local restaurant.

The room was exceedingly clean, "ship shape, and in Bristol fashion."

If you enjoy hiking, Old Rag Mountain is not far away (about 45 minutes) and if you're fit, the hike is worth the views. Old Rag is on the eastern edge of Shenandoah National Park. The hike to the top includes several strenuous rock scrambles - the views on a clear day are spectacular. A "Google" search for Old Rag Mountain will bring you all the info you need to access the mountain. I suggest hiking up the trail to the top, then take the trail / fire road down the back side to return to the parking lot.

A great weekend vacation would include a hike up Old Rag, dinner in Orange, and a good night's sleep at the Holiday Inn Express.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side have views of the surrounding pasture land.

I stayed here for convenience but then also found it very clean, good size rooms, friendly staff, good free breakfast and a stunning view. All in a budget motel. Wonderful!

Large room, immaculate, with pleasing and good quality furnishings and fixtures. All the usual amenities plus a refrigerator and microwave. Gorgeous view of rolling hills and Blue Ridge mountains. Ample, fresh breakfast including cereals, baked goods, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, etc etc-the list goes on. Cookies and coffee in the lobby in the evening at check in. Friendly, helpful staff both at the counter and in the breakfast room. They had an outdoor pool and an exercise room that we didn't use. Did have to drive back into town (not far, just down the hill) for restaurants; motel counter gave listings, recommendations and directions (we were happy with the Silk Mill Grille). We'd picked this hotel as a convenient stopping point after viewing Mount Vernon and Madison's Montpelier in Orange that day and before going on to Monticello--a much nicer place with more included in the lower price than the conference "resort" hotel I'd just come from outside DC.

Room Tip: The prettiest views seem to face west.
